Are we returning or leaving? Where did the channel end and the new one begin? I go through that enough for it to be a problem, but not enough to remember where they switch direction.

Port and starboard are easy enough in a powerboat (of the type I am familiar with). Tie up port side, sit on starboard (steer board) side to steer.
But what is most fun is remembering what direction in a channel one is travelling in an area where the channels merge.

Being a hype marketer or thought leader executive is more lucrative than being a good developer. Unfortunately - I think, at least - engineering types understand too much about the technology and it’s hard to be such a massive advocate for something you know is 1/4 complete.
Even though they’re symbols of multifaceted societal problems, some of these are probably stunningly beautiful.
Even though it’s going to destroy much of that, these should be nationalized and made into housing, if that’s feasible (it could be location, or the construction and layout, or a lot of other good, non-NIMBY reasons).
There’s not much that kills weeds that doesn’t have some impact on humans, animals, or particularly fish.
In which case it is clearly industrialized piracy-at-scale and should be handled in the same way.
It’s absolutely insane to me that people actively agitate against that idea and get upset when the leopards burn their house down.
Legally allowed doesn’t mean a whole lot when it’s 100kg vs 2000kg.
I don’t mean that it’s not a fair point, but is it worth a life?
