With the CHIPS Act funding they can't do stock buybacks.

To less than what it was a month ago.

Maybe instead think about what you'd have to do with the receptacle that all this snot would wind up in once it's full.

Yeah Biden and Harris' (along with the right though they won't admit it) version of "the economy is good" only applies to you if you're earning your income via capital gains and not earning your income from wages.

Of course there's an argument to be made that healthy companies mean healthy jobs, but these companies have tainted and perverted this so bad that average workers don't really benefit from it at all.

Don't confuse the left with the neoliberal-run Democratic party because they're keen on abandoning more and more of us on the left day by day.

They do when it's convenient for them. Don't expect any logical consistency out of the right because their ideals flip wildly depending on the situation.

Yeah, if you've seen the movie Don't Look Up, all the scenes where they go on the news desperately trying to warn people about their impending annihilation while the hosts are more concerned about maintaining the status quo and keeping an upbeat mood going, remind me of what it's like watching cable news like this.

I hope that they and the people they misinformed/demotivated. Will be ready to show solidarity if we're ever given another chance at elections.

Yes I hope all those center-right neolibs running the party realize the failure of their ways and join in solidarity with those of us on the left. I have my doubts though.

That was already a thing for them in Texas. They're arguably much less isolated now but either way everyone still needs a car.

This response reminds me of that of the opponents to stricter gun laws in the US. "Just enforce the laws that are on the books!" is what they say but that obviously isn't working as we have more and more gun violence to the point that it's the number one cause of death for those under 18.

What makes you think parents know anything better about social media than their kids? It's obviously rotting people's brains all over the planet and some sort of intervention is needed. We've made it this long as a species without social media, and yet after a little more than a decade with it, we're at each other's throats ready to end the whole experiment.
