A rumor floated that Trump would pause the tariffs, so stocks temporarily shot up until the white house confirmed that the rumors weren't true, and then they dropped back down.

Plus they have their big book that shows current values and trends with used vehicles (like KBB on steroids) so just a cursory glance at your trade-in to ensure the transmission isn't falling out and dragging on the ground should be a safe bet that they'll be able to recoup most of the book value on the trade.

No other major manufacturers sell directly to customers so no. Dealerships don't care as long as you're buying something. Many cars they take as trade wind up going straight to auction.

The deadline to have him back was today. Anyone know the current situation?

100%

I work with some die hard MAGA (one had a custom "NFOWARS" plate until he crashed his car driving drunk) and this describes them to a T. Weak people that see weak people act like "strong men" on TV and latch their whole identity onto them.

While you may be able to turn up the transmit power on the router, remember that devices have to be able to transmit back that same distance so you may have mixed results.

I got a STEM degree that didn't require any financial classes. I learned all that on my own once I started making adult money at nearly 30. I see (quite a lot of) others in my same boat who didn't bother and are making six figures while living paycheck to paycheck still. The last round of layoffs were quite a shock to these people.

I'll give big credit to my parents who also never saved a dollar and gave me the fire inside to never allow myself to wind up in the same position after seeing the disastrous results of said decisions.

Edit: funny that a CJ degree is mentioned as my aunt and her (trash of a human being) prison guard husband took out a $500k loan to remodel their $250k house. They got divorced last year and still can't sell that house. He lives in Florida now and she moved into a trailer park.

Seriously I was scanning the comments to find anyone mentioning this. It's insane to leave your funds in stocks if you're retired or close to retirement. That should have been shifted to bonds or other stable investments years ago.

But Cali and New York do not reap the tax revenue of a country with the GDP of their size; they can only reap part of it, both because Federal taxes remove a portion of that taxable income

I'd love to see people like Newsome, Kotek, Ferguson, and Hochul grow some balls and start co-opting Trumps rhetoric on these trade deficits but with federal taxes instead. Currently most blue states pay more to the federal government than they receive and those dollars that they do receive are just returning the very tax revenue they sent out but with Trump's ridiculous conditions tacked on. He currently has his base of useful idiots talking about how uninhibited islands like the Mcdonald Islands are "ripping us off" so they should strike while the iron is hot and threaten to seize federal tax revenue generated from the workers and industries in their respective states just the same. If Trump is going to gut every federal office and program that actually impacts people's lives, what are we even sending them money for?

Yeah Dems say they want this stuff on TV, but when push comes to shove, they do whatever they can to prevent it from actually passing. Case in point was the ACA where they bailed on the single payer option in order to maintain the private insurance scheme with a plan written by Mitt Romney. They claimed they did this to "reach across the aisle" and gain Republican support but they had a super majority and didn't need Republican support. Zero Republicans voted to support this plan.

It was a typo. It should read "Donald Trump is a loser"

The "vote blue no matter who" people were just "blue MAGA" folks trying to justify their support of genocide and those senators and reps along with the DNC leadership are now happily sitting on their asses while Trump's power goes unchecked, so who cares whether they keep their titles? It's not as if they're actually using their positions to fight back. They're just acting as controlled opposition.
