Read right here if you don't bother to click the link and see the "flimsy evidence".

Here is one of the Lemmy devs denying that the Uyghur genocide in China is happening:

https://old.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/xq49ct/deleted_by_user/iq954mu/

"The Uyghur genocide is as real as white genocide."

Here they are again denying it:

https://old.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/xq49ct/deleted_by_user/iq951cv/

"The holocaust was a genocide that actually happened, with all the evidence that goes along with it. There is no Uyghur genocide."

"Do you believe in anything as soon as the word "genocide" gets attached to it? What about "white genocide"? Are you a white genocide denier?"

And just so nobody can deny that parentis_shotgun is a Lemmy dev: -

"I'm one of the devs of Lemmy" https://i.imgur.com/5kp9BP0.png

Direct links to the posts will not work but still exist on the user's profile page: https://old.reddit.com/user/parentis_shotgun/ - hold PgDn until comments stop loading then Control+F. In fact feel free to peruse their history in general - it's quite interesting.

One of my favorite posts is their defense of the government of North Korea in /r/AskTankies: https://old.reddit.com/r/asktankies/comments/tb1836/okay_but_dprk_seriously/i04d1wu/

Now ask yourself why would someone who is not a Red Fascist Tankie piece of shit be answering questions on behalf of Tankies in /r/AskTankies while defending a totalitarian regime? Is it... perhaps because they're in support of such a regime because they are in fact a Tankie piece of shit?

Windows 3.1 and later (16-bit and 32-bit)

Does it mean the app will work on Windows 10 32-bit?

In China, talking about TiananmenSquaremassacre1989 is LESS extreme than saying Taiwan is a country.

The CCP has brainwashed enough citizens to believe that the government did the right thing in 1989, even if you show them the massacre footage. They think the students were terrorists who deserved to be crushed.

On the other hand, most people in China believe that saying Taiwan is a country would be the biggest crime you can imagine.

If you download the internet to the cloud, then you have double the internet. Repeat several times you can crash the Matrix.

I would advise you to let the experts do the job instead.

You need to protect your server from hackers, viruses, malware, and other threats that could compromise your data or harm your network. You also need to comply with the laws and regulations regarding the content and services that you host on your server. If you don’t know how to secure your server properly, you could expose yourself to legal liability or cyberattacks.

Lemuroid is much easier and pleasant to use than Retroarch.

In a way down votes are necessary evil. One of the quickest ways to suppress off topic, trolls, spam etc.

What about kbin and other alternatives? Not everyone is moving to Lemmy. I don't want to use the software developed by tankies.

It depends on the moderators of the "magazine" (community) you are posting in. For example if you post your topic in my Pomeranians community, I might remove your post and give you the reasons for removal, but I probably won't ban you unless you go off topic repeatedly.

Another type of banning is called "instance ban". Instance bans are when a user is banned from an entire instance by the instance administrator. This means that the user can no longer access any of the communities or content on that instance. However, the user can still access other instances, unless they are also banned from those instances. Instance bans can be temporary or permanent, depending on the severity of the violation and the discretion of the administrator.

kbin.social instance administrators seem to be reasonable people. So I doubt that you would get banned if you follow the rules.

Lemmy.ml on the other hand...

I am going to delete my reddit account anyway. I will test their bottom line and there is nothing to lose.

I like your app's simple and beautiful design. Some suggestions:

  • Your "install app" page says Safari even though I'm using Firefox on the desktop. Perhaps you can change the instructions based on browser detection

  • Images are always displayed in full height. Will you consider setting a maximum height for images so tall images won't affect browsing the posts?

  • The login page says "Due to CORS, all requests to will be proxied through wefwef.app". Can you elaborate and give reassurance that privacy would be respected by your app? Perhaps a privacy policy under the settings page would help.

  • The profile page has a very short list of instances. Is there a logic on how those instances are selected? I support that you are selective about what instances are included. I hope to see the instance managed by weirdos to be excluded.
