I once again will encourage you all to check out Jon Elmer’s “Resistance Report” section on this week’s Electronic Intifada livesteam. The whole thing is great but Jon’s segment (starts at 1:51:40) is really a wonderful cure for doomerism.

The Resistance is fighting hard and it appears in Gaza that their ability to fight the entity has not degraded at all in the last year. And it’s only just now that Israel has had to commit serious ground troops to Lebanon and this had to come at the cost of taking troops out of Gaza, so the already inept IOF has to try and do more with less in Gaza (and they were already failing with “more”).

I’ll once again use this an opportunity to plug Jon Elmer’s section of The Electronic Intifada’s weekly livestream. What I’m saying below is largely what I got from him this morning.

Short answer is yes. In a year of fighting, it does not appear that the IOF has been able to degrade the Resistance in Gaza’s ability to fight. They’re still scoring hamas-red-triangle . And Hezbollah has only just gotten into the fight with their ground operations. The IOF hasn’t destroyed the tunnel system in any significant way. It honestly seems very similar to Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh trail.

The entity is not defeating Hamas on the battlefield. They know they are losing and they know Hamas has no reason to give them what they want - functional surrender where Gaza is ruled by the Palestinian Authority or a collection of Israel’s buddies like KSA. So all they can do is slaughter civilians. This is the bank robber who, after the bank manager refuses to open the safe, starts shooting customers and insists he will continue to do so until the bank manager open the vault, to make the manager feel responsible for every death. It’s literally terrorism.

Btw when the IOF moved from Rafah to the north of Gaza over the weekend, the Resistance was there waiting for them and scored a number of victories, so that is a good sign of the ability of the Resistance to fight from everywhere in Gaza.

Because I know all of us here appreciate Slammer’s work, they tweeted this out an hour ago:

Some people have asked me how they can support my artwork. I’d ask them (and anyone who’s similarly inclined) to donate to Mohammed, his wife and their six children instead, if you can. Anything at all helps. Thanks so much.

That’s honestly not too far off from how it was actually defended in America at the time

Just incredible that Israel is allowed to bomb the shit out of Beirut and terrorize the population of Lebanon under the pretext of “uh yeah Hezbollah is probably around there somewhere”… and the west just sorta shrugs its collective shoulders and says “sure I guess”.

The Israel propaganda is way less thorough than it was back last October. Remember that hilariously fake audio of two “Hamas” commanders? Or all the spinning they tried to do about how an Israeli missile that killed hundreds outside a hospital was really a wayward Hamas rocket? They’re not even bothering with it anymore.

With the anniversary of Oct 7 coming up, I suspect it will be a topic for some friends of mine. Due to some work I’ve done on them over the past year, I think they might actually be amenable to learning more about Palestine and everything that’s happened in the last 100+ years.

Problem is, these people really have no idea what’s going on or what happened. I don’t know if they could find Palestine on a map. They literally haven’t moved beyond “Jews and Arabs have an ancient grudge and this is just the continuation of that.

What are some basic - and I mean basic videos I could send to them. I think 1948 Creation & Catastrophe is amazing but its scope is a bit narrow. There’s also that many-hour video Hasan did with historian Zach Foster that’s very good but it’s more about debunking hasbara.

I know we have quite a few ukkk comrades here… so years ago, I learned about canal boats. The whole things seems really cool and cozy to me. However, I also get the impression that it’s generally considered very boring. Have you gone on a canal boat trip before? Did you enjoy it?
