FBC: Firebreak is a 3-player co-op game set in the Control universe. It's Remedy Entertainment's (Finland) first ever multiplayer game and first ever self-published title. It will be released June 17 for PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Steam Deck support is one of the priorities for the devs. Unless they pull off some nonsensical shenanigans, it should be playable on desktop Linux as well.

The game costs €39.99 for Standard Edition, €49.99 for Deluxe Edition, and it's included in the game passes for each platform from day one. Deluxe Edition contains some cosmetics, and you can upgrade Standard Edition to Deluxe for €10.

There will be free content upgrades and paid cosmetics. Two major content updates are scheduled for this year alone. According to the devs, the game will have none of that FOMO crap that is so prevalent in the gaming world currently. If something is available now, it will always be available. Also, if you have limited time available to play games, this should be a good option for you. There are settings to adjust the length and difficulty of a game.

They streamed a Developer Update yesterday. It has some live gameplay, among other things.

Olkiluoto 2:n roottori hajosi viime syksynä, jolloin sen tilalle asennettiin viimeinen varaosaroottori. Tuon ainoan roottorin hajoamisen minimoimiseksi, Olkiluoto 2:ta ajettiin alemmalla tehotasolla. Aiemmin tässä kuussa Olkiluotoon saapui kunnostettu varaosaroottori, joten tehotasoa alettiin nostamaan hitaasti kohti normaalia. Tehonnoston aikana generaattorissa huomattiin kosteuden nousua, minkä takia Olkiluoto 2 ajettiin alas tämän viikon tiistaina. Tänään vian syyksi paljastui jälleen kerran roottorivika, eli siihen vaihdetaan se juuri saapunut ja tällä hetkellä taas ainoa varaosaroottori, ja sitä ajetaan ensi vuoden vuosihuoltoon saakka alennetulla tehotasolla.

Tämä on noin kahden vuoden aikana jo kolmas roottorivika Olkiluoto 2:ssa.

Olkiluoto 2:n pitäisi palata sähköntuotantoon 10.5. (arvio), mutta sen vuosihuolto alkaa heti 25.5. Olkiluoto 3:n vuosihuolto on meneillään, ja sen on tarkoitus päättyä 2.5. Tuossa välissä on Olkiluoto 1:n vuosihuolto, 11.5. - 22.5.

A new jailbreaking tool, WinterBreak, was released earlier this year. It can jailbreak even the latest generation Kindles, as long as the device has not been updated to 5.18.x firmware. 5.18 firmware is available for 10th, 11th and 12th gen Kindles, and was released last month. OTA updates usually propagate over weeks or even months, so even if you have used your Kindle recently, there's a good chance the update hasn't reached your device.

Some older devices can be jailbroken with another tool. Only 1st generation Kindle, and Kindle Touch (4th gen) cannot be jailbroken.

Once jailbroken, you have freedom to do pretty much anything you want with the device. Get rid of the mostly useless Amazon interface, and replace it with KOReader. Or go crazy and install Linux.

JustWatch is a kind of search engine that helps you find out which streaming services has particular movies or TV shows. It supports many countries, so if there are local streaming services in your country, they might be included in JustWatch. JustWatch is headquartered in Berlin, Germany.

JustWatch has a genre called "Made in Europe". You can find it by first clicking Popular at the top of the page and then Genres in the filtering section. Somewhat confusingly, it includes movies and TV shows not made in Europe. The banner image at the top of the page says "Co-funded by Creative Europe MEDIA Programme of European Union" which might explain why non-European shows are included. But it does contain many European movies and TV shows, and you can filter and sort them to find content that interests you. Check the production country under "About the movie/TV show" section if you want to be sure it's produced in Europe.

Fingrid havaitsi keskiviikkona 25.12. noin kello 12:30, että Estlink 2 -sähköyhteys katkesi. Myöhemmin kävi ilmi, että yhteensä neljässä tietoliikenneyhteydessä on myös häiriöitä. Cinian omistamassa Suomen ja Saksan välisessä yhteydessä, kahdessa Elisan omistamassa Suomen ja Viron välisessä yhteydessä, sekä CITIC Telecomin omistamssa Suomen ja Viron välisessä yhteydessä. Estlink 2 on se sama 650 MW:n yhteys mikä oli aiemmin tänä vuonna useamman kuukauden ajan poikki, ilmeisesti laiterikon takia. Cinian kaapeli on se sama C-Lion1 -kaapeli, mikä katkesi noin kuukausi sitten.

Estlink 2 -kaapelin yli kulki Eagle S -niminen öljytankkeri yhteyden katkeamishetkellä. Suomen merivartiolaitoksen alus sattui olemaan paikalla, ja he näkivät, ettei aluksen ankkuri ollut paikoillaan. Merivartiolaitoksen alus käski alusta nostamaan ankkurin, mutta merestä nousi pelkkä ketju. Eagle S on tällä hetkellä Suomen aluevesillä ja Suomen poliisi on miehittänyt sen. Alusta epäillään törkeästä tuhotyöstä.

Fingrid arvioi, että Estlink 2:n korjaamiseen menee useita kuukausia. Cinian kaapelin tulee korjaamaan sama ranskalainen alus, mikä korjasi C-Lion1 -kaapelin kuukausi sitten. Elisan tietoliikennekaapelit korjaa suomalainen alus.

EDIT: Naton pääsihteeri Mark Rutte sanoi erään miljardöörin somepalvelussa, että Nato seuraa Suomen ja Viron tutkimuksia ja on valmis antamaan tukea Suomelle ja Virolle.

Olkiluoto 3:n sähköntuotanto keskeytyi:

Olkiluoto 3 -laitosyksikkö oli normaalissa tuotannossa, kun turbiinihäiriö keskeytti automaattisesti laitoksen sähköntuotannon. Laitos toimi tilanteessa suunnitellusti. Syynä oli generaattorin tiivisteöljyjärjestelmän toimintahäiriö.

Fortumin Loviisan ydinvoi­ma­lai­toksen kakko­syk­si­köllä tuotan­to­katkos:

Loviisan voimalaitoksen kakkosyksikön sähköntuotanto keskeytyi maanantaina 18.11.2024 noin klo 20:55 reaktorin pikasulun vuoksi. Vian syynä on häiriö reaktorin apujärjestelmässä ja vian tarkempaa syytä selvitetään parhaillaan.

Noiden lisäksi Olkiluoto 2 toimii alennetulla tehotasolla turbiiniongelmien takia. Yhteensä siis noin 2100 MW, eli noin puolet ydinvoiman kokonaiskapasiteetista, pois tuotannosta. Pörssisähkön hinnat saattaa olla taas aika jänniä loppuviikon ajan. 😅

EDIT: Molempien laitoksien vikojen selvittely on edennyt sen verran, että niiden käynnistysajat on tarkentuneet.

Fortumin uutiseen päivitettiin Loviisa 2:n vian syy:

Vian syynä oli säätösauvakoneiston jäähdytysjärjestelmän häiriö, jonka vuoksi laitos joudutaan jäähdyttämään kylmäseisokkiin ohjeiden mukaisia tarkastuksia varten. Tarkastusten ja tarvittavien korjaustöiden jälkeen reaktori lämmitetään uudestaan ylösajoa ja laitoksen uudelleenkäynnistämistä varten.

EDIT2: Molemmat laitokset tuottaa taas sähköä normaalilla kapasiteetillaan. Tosin Olkiluoto 3:n kapasiteettia on rajoitettu järjestelmäsuojan takia.

Olkiluoto 3:n vuosihuolto päättyy päivitetyn aikataulun mukaan 28.4.

Syynä kahdeksan päivän lisäaikaan ovat vuosihuollon aikana löytyneet uudet viat ja tarkastuslaitteiden tekniset ongelmat.

Saa nähdä saako ne tuon käyntiin OL2:n huoltoon mennessä. Tämän hetkisen tiedon mukaan OL2:n huolto alkaa samana päivänä kuin OL3:n huollon pitäisi loppua.

Olkiluoto 3 -laitosyksikkö (OL3) irrotetaan sähköntuotannosta lauantaina 2. maaliskuuta huoltoseisokkia varten. Sen arvioidaan kestävän noin 37 vuorokautta.

Yhteensä erilaisia töitä on OL3:n huoltoon suunniteltu noin 1 900 pitäen sisällään noin 6 500 työvaihetta. Vertailun vuoksi esimerkiksi OL2:n vuosihuolto pitää sisällään noin 550 työtä, joissa on yhteensä 1200 työvaihetta.

OL3:n osalta vuosihuollon merkittävimmät työt ovat polttoaineen vaihdon lisäksi suojausjärjestelmän ennakkohuoltotyöt, automaatiojärjestelmiin tehtävät ohjelmistopäivitykset, suojarakennuksen eristysventtiilien tiiveyskokeet sekä paineistimen varoventtiilien huollot.

Olkiluoto 2:n (OL2) polttoaineenvaihtoseisokki alkaa 28. huhtikuuta ja kestää noin 11 vuorokautta. Viimeisenä laitosyksiköistä vuorossa on Olkiluoto 1 (OL1), jonka huoltoseisokki alkaa 12. toukokuuta ja kestää noin 16 vuorokautta. Kaikkien vuosihuoltojen pitäisi olla valmiita 28. toukokuuta.

Amazon updated the browser in Kindle e-readers with software version 5.16.4 last November. Check the Kindle E-Reader Software Updates page to see if your device has that version available.

Previously, the browser was almost useless, because it didn't support many of the features websites use nowadays. The new update significantly improves the browser, and it actually manages to display most pages correctly. Unfortunately, Kindles' hardware is quite lacking. Paperwhite 11th gen is so slow that while webpages work correctly, many of them are unusable because of the poor performance.

Has anyone tried the new version of the web browser yet? Have you found any websites that you like using on your Kindle? I tried Lemmy, but of course that's one of the websites that doesn't work. There are no errors, it just doesn't show any posts.
