I haven't used mlem. I'm on Android and we have Jerboa. Hopefully an mlem user can answer your question.

On Jerboa we just have to input which instance we want to log into.

Last time I used ani-cli on Linux it wouldn't load any videos. It was working well before. Does it work for you now?

That's honestly impressive. Didn't expect that much. How are the instances coping (pretty sure a big slice of it went to lemmy.ml)?

We really have to spread the word that lemmy.ml is not the only intance and size isn't a gauge for how active an instance is. I'm worried lemmy.ml will not be able to handle that many users who may be coming, and a high concentration of comms there would mean a lot would suffer if lemmy.ml crashes...

Hi. I'm commenting here because I'm not sure this deserves its own post.

Lately on reddit, lemmy and kbin have been mentioned more as reddit alternatives. While that may be a good thing (free advertising is good, at least), I've seen more than a few people say (unevoqually, imho) that A) lemmy/kbin is bad for privacy and B) they collect data. I've read kbin's privacy policy as well as the devs' responses on github, but is there any other links I can point them to?

It's incredibly frustrating, tbh. It feels like they're out to discredit lemmy and kbin. I've answered a few myself, but there's much more out there. They don't even give a reason. They usually just say "lemmy is terrible for privacy" or "lemmy collects your data." No links, no whatever.

Edit: my last reddit account is going to seem like a lenny marketer if this doesn't stop lol.

I did it not even half an hour ago and didn't get any errors. I have only my main account left. One last account before I leave for good.

I'm a silent follower of your sub, but I hope you guys are staying here for good even after the reddit drama. Or I guess handling 2 communities on different sites is more than a handful?
