I’m just starting to get a handle on this. Appreciate the post.

Is it crazy that one of them looks like Picard? I’m a little high at the moment and can’t decide if it’s cool or creepy.

I’m curious if you could imagine any information that would shift your position on any of your ideas? I’m not trying to be a dick, genuinely wondering.

I think you’re talking about the new medication approved to treat postpartum depression.

Increased risk of suicidal thoughts and actions is a very commonly listed side effect of a great deal of antidepressant medications. That’s why you’re supposed to be closely supervised when you start them and report any oddities to your doctor asap.

So it doesn’t increase suicidal tendencies across the board, only in those who are susceptible to that side effect.

If it wasn’t actually problematic it would be fascinating. It’s like watching a documentary about a cult.

Sounds to me like you’re already on the path to having it figured out when you say something like “I know I’ll eventually find a bright side to this”.

I’ve had to come to terms with limitations myself. The thing that’s worked best for me is radical acceptance. Simply always accepting that the present moment is what it is. That doesn’t mean give up improving or anything. It just means that however I’m feeling in the present about my limitations is ultimately not that important. The sun will rise tomorrow regardless of what’s going on for me.

Looking at the picture “the pale blue dot” helps with this idea too.

I’m now realizing that I read your title wrong. my brain messed with the word ‘advertising’ and told me that was referring to the news that’s no longer being allowed on the sites. Stupid brain.

They made it so social media companies have to pay for the news. It’s Meta that’s doing the blocking.

I fancy myself fairly tech savvy. I managed to figure out this Lemmy thing, lol.

For whatever reason I’ve never really understood how an RSS thing works. I guess I’ve just never been compelled to figure it out.

My main point is that the kinds of people who were/are getting all their news from Meta probably couldn’t figure out RSS either.

Seems like a good idea though. I might have to finally dig in to it.

Sounds good but there are probably a lot of unintended consequences. For example, everyone who bought and uses a Quest VR system.

That's a horse shit take on true friendship. I tell my close male friends that I love them, we bro hug, we've cried together. Maybe that take is true for a lot of men but that doesn't make it any good.

Anycubic water washable resin, shaken for 30 seconds before pouring in to the vat.

The leading edge of the ship (the edge pointing to the top of this picture) was hanging by supports off the build plate.

This is a resin printer so no hot end. 25 second exposure for the first 8 layers then 2.5 seconds each layer after.
