Didn't Hungary used to have a massive manufacturing base that could conceivably be recreated, if the conditions were right? Or is Orban (much like Putin) too much of a liberal to ever do industrial policy like a 20th century leader, instead of whatever neoliberal bullshit that most countries do today.

Has Orban been warning about the refugees from Ukraine? I thought he mostly just wanted the war to end so that the EU would get off his ass about his "support" for Putin, and because he recognized that Ukraine is absolutely not winning that war, so why prolong the inevitable. But Orban's way of thinking is quite hard for me to understand, since everything Danish media writes about him is "big bad Putin fanboy wants to strangle kittens, just like Putin"

Remember the Trashfuture bit where Milo argued that the UK is the only actually right wing country. Every other right wing project spends massive amounts of money on their millitary and their police, but the UK is so ideologically committed to austerity that they even did it to their imperial peacekeepers. Turns out they even did austerity to their nuclear programme, which is definitely a unique strategy.

Yeah, that's the reason why I said that the UK doesn't actually have nukes. They have all the expenses of trying to maintain a nuclear programme, but with none of the effective deterrence.

Britain decided that nukes were too expensive to maintain, so their GPS-targetting system doesn't work without express permission from the Americans.

My job recently sent me an email where I could choose my own christmas present from a short list of "approved" gifts. Unfortunately that turned out to be a phishing attack sent out by our IT-department, so my christmas bonus was literally just the holiday party that some staff threw last friday.

Britain doesn't have nuclear weapons so it'll be a quick one at least.

I wonder how much more fascist Hungary is going to get if a Ukrainian refugee does a terrorist attack against them.

The Supreme Court of the United States has already ruled that the president can extrajudicially murder american citizens, and that the Court does not have authority to overrule the President's decisions on who they place on their terrorist watch list, AND that the president can drone strike those on the list without any input from Congress or the Courts. This means that any American citizen can at any point be murdered for being in the way of the President / Executive branch entirely legally. I dare you to find a more compelling political argument than "I can have your entire family incinerated from the heavens and you literally cannot defend yourself against that".

Do you think they'll go back to calling him Vladimir when they finally leave his ass out to dry?

The american propensity for war-cheerleading is gross and disgusting, while simultanously being the main reason why the US takes L after L on the international stage.
