Same, and I didn't even finish Inquisition. Bioware didn't need open world filler injected in its narrative based games and worlds, and those forced elements are what killed them off for a while. Then there was the disaster that was Anthem, which also had big, shallow open world and a craptacular mission design that forced you to a full stop to grind dumb boring shit (at which point I quit) before continuing the not terrible, but barely adequate campaign that I would've probably managed to finish if not for that grind gate.

Finally! I haven't played an Assassin's Creed game for Years because they were too long, repetitive, and filled with boring timesinks. And I used to be a huge AC fanboy back in the day. Starting from 1, I played each release every year until Revelations + 3 burned me out. Took me years to recover enough to play AC 4 and Rogue. Never even touched Unity, barely tried Syndicate (and only because I got it for free), and all the new ultra-long ones starting with Origins I didn't even bother starting, except for Valhalla during a free play weekend on Steam. Valhalla annoyed me enough over that weekend that I just didn't bother buying.

I've been waiting for a "back to basics" game like Mirage for a while now, and the fact that it has callbacks to the gameplay and setting of AC 1 is a big plus for me. I'll wait for reviews, but it's the most interested I've been in an AC game for a long time.

Okay, The Flash and / or Superman / Superwoman. I'll just go ahead and tap into the speed force / energized solar radiation and do that.

That sounds good, but I hope they tweak the default controller scheme to make it more intuitive. Last time I tried using a controller, it was a terrible experience, and it was just easier to use the mouse and keyboard. They could learn a thing or two from PSO2 and PSO2 NGS, which at the very least, has a decent controller scheme.

While that sounds bad for POE 1, the QoL changes and fixes for PoE2 sound like what I always wanted for PoE1. I want to like PoE 1, but many of the systems were too complicated for me to want to deal with, and since I was a casual, occaisional player, a lot of stuff would change by the time I would come back, and I wouldn't even know where to start anymore.

If they've reduced complexity and made things more intuitive, I might give PoE2 a shot when it releases. That said, if it's possible, they should backport as much of that stuff as they can to PoE1. There are still a lot of people who want to play it and probably would play it in the future, even with the launch of its sequel.

Terenas: What is this? What are you doing, my son?

Arthas: Succeeding you, Father...

Well, it's still Facebook owned after all, and given that Facebook still exists, it's kind of redundant with it. Many of the people who were on Twitter (like myself) were on it because it WASN'T Facebook or Facebook owned, and so we wouldn't go to that platform anyway.

Plus, it's not the only competitor out there, although to be fair, there's way too many competitors right now, and it needs to whittle down to like 3 big ones or so. And these ones should be friendly to apolitical types, moderates, and sane conservatives.

Like it or not, online liberals such as ourselves are the vocal minority. Most people in life (and even on the net, even though the internet trends more liberal) aren't as politically motivated as some in the Fediverse would assume. We're in a bubble / echo chamber. Especially on Lemmy / Kbin and Mastodon.

Firefox is underrated. The only issue I have is sites that are only optimized for Chromium, and especially edge. A lot of businesses and medical websites only develop for and test for 1 browser, and it used to be Internet Explorer, but now it's Edge.

Then there's Microsoft Websites too. I don't know if it's like that anymore, but I always had to use Edge instead of Firefox to subscribe to or cancel Xbox Game Pass in the past.

The only bit of good news is that young Republicans believe in climate change. Now I really wish they'd speak out more and start moving their party in that direction.

The GOP needs to die and be replaced with a better conservative party. What the old GOP (circa Eisenhower or so) was is what conservative Democrats are now. At the very least, we need ranked choice voting and a third party who'll take votes from the GOP by being similar in regard to most things EXCEPT action on climate change.

I know that's not ideal, but politics is about the art of the possible and choosing the least bad outcome. I'd rather have gun nuts / anti-abortion hounds / homophobes that care about the planet and perhaps support unions or something than what we have now. What we have now is people that are against everything good for the planet and its people.
