Get 16Gb of RAM and 512Mb at a minimum. The base model either slows down or runs out of storage. If you can find the money get an M3 pro MBP model for dual external monitor support. You'll need more than a tiny laptop screen when staring at complex drawings and graphs.

If you can afford it, I would get 32Gb or more of RAM. That will make the biggest difference in your processing speed, especially it you multitask a lot. Ideally, you'd get a 14" MBP M3pro with 36GB of RAM
