Can you explain why the enterprise version is a red flag? Would you expect the company to make money some other way?

I agree it does look legitimate, I was just wondering what signs I should look out for in general. Like I'm sure fake GitHub engagement must be a thing, but I don't know how widespread it is and I don't know what the threshold is before a project can be considered definitely real. It sounds like you're saying the level of engagement on this project is well beyond what can be considered sketchy, which is helpful information. Thanks

What do you mean?

I don't like it either. It feels kind of insulting to the music, like the editors are implying that the song is stupid and lame.

So you're saying instead of tacking "site:reddit.com" onto my Google search, I can now use ChatGPT to get the same information, except without the original context, and it will often be wrong? Amazing!

And this also means that companies will fill Reddit with fake comments promoting their brand to ensure that their brand gets mentioned in ChatGPT responses, right? Can't wait!

Valve's game development division feels more like a weird cult than a proper game company. I don't think they get "excited" for the things that most people get excited for. (Remember when they were excited for a virtual card game where you have to pay for every card?) The Valve of the 2000s is long gone IMO

I'm not angry, but I'm tired of live service esports games. Also the last time Valve arrived late to a trend (Artifact) it didn't turn out well.

Can you please describe how you do this? I thought Github Copilot can only make changes to the currently open tab? It's been a few months since I've used it, and I've only used the Visual Studio version, which I think isn't as good as the Visual Studio Code version. Has Copilot already gotten to the point where you can tell it to make changes to an entire codebase?

I don't think Hellblade 2 is the kind of game that's going to make a ton of money, at least not as much as major franchises on Playstation. It wouldn't make sense to spend too much budget on marketing.

The problem: when a new user who is unfamiliar with the fediverse visits join-lemmy.org, they will likely be turned off when they see how few users are on each server. This is because many people will assume that having a low number of users on your server means that you'll have a low number of users to interact with. (This is what I assumed when I first discovered Lemmy.)

The solution: instead of showing the number of users on each server, we should instead show information that feels more intuitive to new users and doesn't mislead people into assuming the user count is more important than it actually is.

I think it would be a good idea to show the date that the server was founded, and show the server's network traffic in terms of Low/Moderate/High. I think this would make the prospect of joining a server much more appealing to new members, and it would also help them understand that it's actually a good thing to join a server with fewer users, not a bad thing.

Here's my quick mockup of what it could look like. (I made up random dates but you get the idea):

I'm a big fan of the indie game Hypnospace Outlaw. (Lemmy kind of gives me Hypnospace vibes which is part of the reason why I'm really enjoying it haha.) The upcoming sequel Dreamsettler is probably my most anticipated upcoming game.

The developer just released a spinoff game on Steam called Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath, which is a retro Doom-like game created by one of the fictional characters in Hypnospace Outlaw. Has anyone here been playing it? I started playing it last night and it's pretty neat, although I'm not sure how much it plays into the lore of Hypnospace. I've only completed three levels so far, but so far I'm a little disappointed that there isn't more story. I was hoping there would be some kind of twist beyond what was shown in the trailer. But maybe that will come later in the game?

Anyways has anyone here been playing Slayers X? What do you think of it?
