So not this? Sorry if I’m misunderstanding, I’m more of a visual person.

I can be angry at Facebook, which I dumped in 2008, and still feel indifferent towards people who post pro-ICE memes and get deported. These aren’t mutually exclusive things.

There’s no helping the majority of this country, if I can be blunt about it. I’ve been to 46/50 states, and the sheer volume of cognitive dissonance I’ve come across is just mind boggling. A solid voting half of this country believes that their hate for something is justified until it affects them or someone they personally care about.

I don’t walk around carrying hate towards strangers, so I’ll just point and laugh when they get delivered the goods that they literally asked for.

Oh, we need to raise our prices because of inflation and then inflation goes down but the prices don’t.

I mean, this is literally how inflation works. Inflation rates go down, but things don’t magically become cheaper again. It just doesn’t get more expensive as quickly. If they raise prices over what you’re willing to pay, then don’t buy it. That’s how prices drop.

Is it bullshit? Absolutely, no argument there. That’s just how things work unfortunately.

I don’t feel bad for morons who get duped. I gotta live in this shithole country, so when people get what they actually asked for, I fucking celebrate it.

Just chiming in to let you know I’m rooting for you and hoping the last 11 days are going well for you.

Yeah this is where I’m at too. I’d definitely be willing to pay for some swag to get sent to other community members who otherwise may not be able to afford it, but I also would like it to be anonymous.

USA here. It mostly depends on the regional climate, in my experience. If you’re buying a new car in Texas, it probably won’t have heated seats in the options package. If you’re buying one in Vermont, it would be a lot more likely to be available.

MMRs are. For the time being anyway.

So I think in Canada you can get an antibody test to see if you need a booster or not. In the US, insurance won’t pay for the test, but the shot itself is covered. So I just got the booster for free. I’m not much younger than you are.

I don’t know if this is relevant, but I deal a lot with MS support in my role at work. There is some built in AI that you need to go through in order to open a support case, and it’s about 85% useless, and also has a caveat at the end that says “AI provided information may be incorrect”. However, there are cases where it’s useful, and I don’t have to deal with a human who copies and pastes a novel in their email to tell me they’re working on it.

Ive had cancellations processed after product upgrades and it went through in less than a day, and I didn’t have to read 5 paragraphs of bullshit canned script from a human. So it’s not all bad, I guess.

That’s the extent to which I use AI for work. I can’t imagine another use case where I wouldn’t have to double check everything, and if I have to do that, I may as well just do it myeself.

I wish my Irish relatives would throw me a lifeline. I’d leave a vapor trail behind me on my way out of here.

JD Vance meme

No, that’s just how he looks.

So currently I’m running a 5800x and a regular 2060. I’ve got a 650w gold PSU that’s about 4 years old, no problems with it at all. I’m thinking about upgrading to a RX 7800 XT because GeForce prices are perpetually absurd. It seems like it would be enough power, but the few things I’ve read say that I need at least a 750w if I go with the AMD (because they’re power hungry?), but 650w would be fine for a 4070ti. If I have to buy a new PSU, I feel like it would wipe out any savings I might get by buying AMD over Nvidia. How can I definitively know if I need more power?

Full disclosure, I understand the concept of undervolting, but I’m not nearly confident enough to mess with the settings.
