Some scouts had Stroud #1 and some had him #2. The majority preferred Young but it wasn't an overwhelming consensus.

The reality is that some GMs would have drafted Stroud #1 overall, some would have drafted Young #1, and some would have kept Fields and traded the pick like Poles did.

I'm hindsight, Poles should have drafted Stroud. There's nothing wrong with admitting that. He made the wrong decision.

The worst possible thing he could do at this point is double down on Fields AGAIN and pass on another potential franchise QB.

It makes zero sense to take a WR #1 overall when your team needs a QB.

Bears are 3-17 in their past 20 games and 2 of those wins are with Bagent starting.

Just remember, some fans watched Trubisky play for 4 YEARS and still thought he could be a franchise QB.

The last fans to realize Trubisky wasn't good will also be the last fans to realize Fields isn't good.

Just heard, "Hopefully Fields learns from sitting back and watching Bagent"

RIP JF1

Are the Bears the type of organization that makes bold, forward thinking moves? We know the answer to that.

Belichick would never come to this dumpster fire of an organization. Imagine CHOOSING to work for the McCaskeys if you're Belichick.

Kevin Warren only has one job, getting a new stadium.

Paying Sweat top 5 DE money for one year while trying to rebuild around a young QB is a pretty bad outcome.

Trading the #33 and ~#35 pick when you're not even close to contending makes no sense.

The highest upside move would have been Poles drafting talented rookies at #33 and #35 who become quality starters on rookie contracts.

I think he's 5-20 and he's starting to feel some pressure to get some wins. This feels like a panicked move. He doesn't trust his own ability to draft and develop talent.

We could have drafted someone at #35 and also signed a DE in the offseason. We didn't have to give up the pick.

It was too high of a price to pay. SF gave up a pick around #70 to get Young. That's good value. #35 is an overpay for a player like Sweat who is very good but not elite.

We're 2-16 in our last 18 games and fans are trying to argue that we have a talented roster and Poles has done a good job building this team.

The poor bastards don't even know what a competent GM looks like.
