Here’s a human-generated summary
Thank you for doing that for us :-)

There is a balance to find I believe. I find people follow the principle of "refuse, reduce, reuse" truly and adopt plastic only when it is a significantly better choice than an other material, we would be in a much better situation.

But then there would still be the issue of the giagantus amont of plastic waste we would still have to deal with from the past and honestly, I'm not use there is a way to tackle them.

[–] BruceLee@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 months ago

Agree. That's the reason why I try to not obsess over my plastic consumption. I avoid single use plastic my best but there is sometimes when the choice of plastic and of single use is just better. It takes me a few year for me to finish a small of cling wrap but how unpractical it would be never use any! Same with reusable plastic, not the best for environnemental and health perspective but unbeatable for weight, plus not breakable and cheap.

The point for industry is the same as for people: we should try to find the right material for the right conditions while avoid overconsumption and wastefullness and keep single use for case with no other solution.
But do just that while be a lot of work already.

I have no issue with a lamp with a dress but a dress with a dead body made into a lamp?

Being married doesn't need to cost anything. You could not organizing any kind of célébration. You could stop at a dinner with the guests you can host at home. Or do a big party on a yacht with firework. It doesn't matter.

Getting married is officializing to society that the person you love is your family. Building a link separed from love that could fade and vary with time.

This link make also easier to share advantage that is usually reserve to one. Patrimoine, possession, inheritance, joined whatever. It give you the right to make décision in the name of your SO in hard times. If they had an accident, if they are missing or having a dire disease.

Many people fear prénuptial contract but it is the best way to build a marriage in a way to have all the advantage without the dependance. And realising that a relationship might end and that each should be fearly treated without having to fight for it doesn't equated douting a relationship. If you don't fear séparation, you can sign anything. Right ?

I like like the pizza bread recipe by @Aragusea@youtube.com. I use it as a pizza dough as well as focaccia dough. I find it good to use after 3 days in the fridge and up to 5 days where as Adam Ragusea wait for a week. But it is easy to make. I cook it in on a sheetpan with no need of specific equipment and it can be store quite long for a fresh bread dough, neatly packed in the fridge.

I know people like that. They have some sort of social worker aura. People just come to them, they are not close with them but tell them the craziest things that happened in there like, usually for advice but sometimes just to have a confident.

It is only the beginning but the comic already has a home-sick feel. It remind me of a french poem from Joachim Du Bellay "Heureux qui comme Ulysse".
