As Doctor Manhattan reconstituted, he began to realize he had more in common with the dancing flame than any of the people in the room.

Makes sense. Maybe they wouldn't be understaffed if they were utilized in places that actually mattered to people
...well shit. Too smart to be an officer is a thing.
My friend Mark Faceberg
Cities in pretty much the entire country are running with an understaffed police force. They'll take what they can get. I'm 100% pro Union, but another problem is that police unions help protect unfit (literally and figuratively) police from being forced to try harder by abusing protected status health claims. I've seen in both police and military, they are handed paperwork if they are not meeting fitness expectations, but nothing ever comes of it.
It's all about the experience.
I'm one of those weirdos who doesn't care if someone spoils a plot for me because it takes so many more pieces than plot to make something worth watching

I apologize as someone who fully thought you knew it was a protest and were just being a snarky ass opposed to their cause and sent you a down vote.
Yarr, I'll be watching me favorite ship
Or rather, my second favorite ship
I got the hell out of my shit red state and moved to progressive bubble. Much respect, I don't have to face the same struggles as you, but there are two openly trans people where I work and one is a red state bigotville escapee. Some super progressive places have support programs to help like this one: https://www.transrelocationfund.com/
The show is really good, I wanna say I struggled in the first season. I even stopped watching for a bit, but was encouraged to pick it back up. Apparently that happens to a lot of people.
It definitely finds itself and just gets better every season.
Not as good as office or community, but like Stamets said, each character adds to the show in their own way. And it's wild how many of them went on to be bigger stars in other roles. Aziz Ansari, Chris Pratt, Aubrey plaza, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott
