I agree that there's a lot of anti Romani/Traveller sentiment in Europe but I'm not sure that alone swings the political compass so wildly.

I will confess that the other day I pressed the button, then saw a friend of mine in the distance, stopped to wave at them, and then by the time we'd waved at one another I realised that the lights had changed, the traffic had waited, and the lights had changed again... All while I'd been looking the other way like a lemon...

I think *LLMs to do everything is the bubble. AI isn't going anywhere, we've just had a little peak of interest thanks to ChatGPT. Midjourney and the like aren't going anywhere, but I'm sure we'll all figure out that LLMs can't really be trusted soon enough.

Why? I've known several people who do this, it's totally fine. I'm sure for some people it would leave you with really greasy hair, but otherwise what's the issue? It doesn't smell or anything if that's your concern.
Except an actual compas, of course. They really don't need a third axis in most cases.
