Here's Taako the scruffle boi
So when do we get to start claiming embryos as dependents?
I really don't get this. Cereal is very expensive right now, at least here in the Midwest it is. I've seen small boxes upwards of $9. I'll admit that I don't eat cereal all that much these days, but I like it occasionally and when I went to pickup my favorite box, I decided it wasn't worth it. What cash strapped family is eating boxes of cereal for dinner when they could be eating much cheaper and filling foods like beans and rice? Heck, a case of ramen noodles is cheaper than cereal. Or maybe my area is the expensive cereal zone 🤷
Are we posting silly billys today?
I read an article once that suggested that rancidity is something you learn to pick up on and that the inclusion of certain preservatives such as hydrogenated oils in US foods means a lot of us have lost the ability to detect rancidity vs people in other countries that don't use these preservatives and food has a shorter shelf life. It took me a very long time to recognize what rancidity smells like, but now that I do, I can smell it in a large variety of items. I've smelled it in dry cereal, corn chips, nuts, oils, etc. sometimes it's stronger and more obvious and other times it's faint. It can have a slightly different smell depending on what's rancid, but that base smell always seems to be the same. Here's my suggestion, and it may sound weird... Go to a Mexican grocer or local Mexican restaurant and get some tortilla chips that they fry in house. Put them in a paper bag and leave them somewhere and forget about them for a few months. When you open the bag again, you will get the strongest whiff of rancidity you've ever experienced. Hopefully you'll know after that, what to lookout for. I don't know what it is about fresh tortilla chips, but damn they get rancid in the worst way 🤮
I got my dog a big log toy that has holes in it and is filled with teeny squeaky squirrels. He LOVES to stick his nose inside and pull out all the squirrels and shake each one! Then I put them back in so he can do it again. One time, he shook the log and all the squirrels went flying everywhere. I'm glad he hasn't figured out how to do that on purpose 😂
They did this in Chicago too and everyone immediately saw that it wasn't about reducing plastic, but about getting more money to the city. If they actually cared about plastic, they would actually ban it. And you know what, It's not hard at all. Think about what people were using in the 70s before plastic on everything was common. Paper grocery bags, wax paper at the deli counter, cardboard cartons for small fruit like blueberries, lettuce and potatoes laying bare on shelves instead of wrapped up in plastic bundles, beverages in cans and glass bottles. If they could do it, we can do it too.
My favorite thing to make with red potatoes is crispy breakfast potatoes! Cut them into small pieces, microwave for 5-7 min depending how big you cut them just until they're almost tender. Throw them onto a cast iron pan with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder and arrange them so they are all flat on the pan. DONT TOUCH so they get reeeeeal crispy. Then use a fork to flip them so another side can get crispy. Serve up with fried eggs and chorizo and you got yourself a 5 star breakfast baby!
Aside from that, they are a waxy potato, so they are great for mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, hash, pot pies, etc. basically anything where you want the inside to be very soft. I usually also leave the skin on because it's not as tough as russets.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but those population numbers seem very wrong. Last I checked, NYC only had about 8.4 million people and Tokyo only 13.9. Does this include the surrounding suburbs?
You forgot a "pet"! He has 3 heads!
In the US, they both use the same ending sound which is similar to "aht". So "Twaht" and "naht" sound like they rhyme.
Yeah! It's not like... a sexy piece of fruit!
