This article is such shit too. Riddles with spelling mistakes and it repeats itself over and over and then shifts to something else entirely. Someone in Australia turned down a job for 37k? What's so special about that? That's what you're supposed to do if the salary doesn't match up with the job and the region otherwise you get fucked. What does that have to do with ghosting a job you accepted? Then it just abruptly ends. Cool.

It truly is disgusting. I always take a full week to sit down and carefully research everyone and everything I'm voting for. I sit down for a few hours each night with my ballot and do a couple sections until it's done. But unfortunately, most people are not as diligent as I am nor do they care about local politics. I don't even consider myself to be a political person, but at least I do my civic duty. That seems to be lost in the American people.

I've experienced this to a similar degree. Most of my family are small town people and I grew up without money in a small town. I moved to Chicago where I've been relatively successful and want to share some of the experiences I've had with the people I love. But I think the best test of whether or not I can actually include someone in certain activities is how they show up to a funeral. The reason that this is a good test is because you can tell who put in even a smidgen of effort to try to look nice and be respectful and who didn't. And having grown up without a lot of money, I can tell you right now that it doesn't cost much to go to the thrift store to get something that looks even a little bit nice even if it's not standard. The last funeral I went to, you could immediately tell which family members didn't try at all and just showed up in sweat pants and tshirts. Those are the people I wouldn't take to certain places. Id maybe take them to touristy places, but that's about it.

A lot of times, funerals function as a family reunion even if it's a sad occasion. When my grandpa passed away, not only did my father's rather large family all come together, but my grandpa's siblings also flew out from far away. Some of these people I had never met before. For this reason, we planned ahead and made sure to get a venue for dinner to host everyone after the funeral where we could all talk and reminisce and have a good time with people we almost never see. This would be a more appropriate place to take a photo, but some families may not have that option and just want to take the opportunity to get a family photo while they can.

The best argument I've heard so far is "If it's not a Nazi salute, do it at work tomorrow."
