Your curls or your curl iron?? — Forget it, I am taking both! 😄

[–] Bloom@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 months ago

Ohh I have never tried, thank you!

I have mostly straight hair (it tends to curl at the very end). That awkward flip is my default hair right now 😭😂

Hi girlss! 💖 I am looking for a new curl iron and there are soooo many options. I. AM. SO. LOST. 😭 Some are super expensive and some super cheap. I don’t want to pay too much but also I don’t want to cheap out

I was wondering if you have any recommendations ! What do you use and would you recommend it? Do you use any heat protection ? If so what? 😇 If you have any other suggestions for curling your hair I am all ears !

I appreciate any suggestion :)

Hey, I am sorry that this happened to you! That’s absolutely awful and disgusting behaviour. Fact is, this person doesn’t know anything about you and the way they act is a reflection of themselves, not you. You are valid.

Sending love and huuuugs 🩷

Okay first off, you’re not being insane by having these questions.. those are some totally valid questions. this would stress me out as well. It’s totally okay to feel conflicted about this. Is this something you could check with your doctor or HRT supplier? Preferably this is something you want to get from a qualified health professional.

If I were to guess— it should be fine if you follow a healthy diet. Your body needs energy to grow and maintain itself. It will use it to create new cells, from blood cells, skin, hair, nails to breasts. Reducing calorie intake will make your body work to convert fats into glucose, as a source of energy, in order to keep your body going. So those fats will be used as a source of energy for your body. So by that logic it should be fine? It would be problematic if you don’t have the fats to begin with or if you reduce intake too much and your body cannot keep up at the rate of burning fats. So dropping calorie intake entirely would likely have impact. You need a healthy balance.

Now unfortunately, burning fats is a slow process and this is high school biology at best so take it with a grain of salt. Best to check with a qualified professional. Or if you don’t have the luxury, ask around like you are already doing and find a person previously in a similar scenario. If you do have the luxury please ask.

Hope this helps 🩷

To add to this: Start small if it’s too daunting and go from there.

Sometimes steps you want to take are a bit too ambitious. First try smaller steps to make the big step not so big anymore.

Go and ask your crush out? HUGE STEP. Just talk to them and make small talk, maybe also a bit too big? Send them a cute message on socials or leave a note? Be creative.

What also helps for me is to voice my anxiety. To my friends or to the one you’re experiencing it with. “Okay so I am super nervous” already relieves me from a ton of pressure. It changes the dynamics and creates room for compassion. Let them help you.

Twenty seconds of courage.

Pretend you’re full of confidence and lift yourself up. You’re now the most social person ever existed. You can handle any social situation even this one.

Now, do the thing you want to do and do it for at least twenty seconds. Take your time doing it.

Often it turns out it wasn’t that scary or didn’t go as bad as you thought it would and you can continue doing it. If it does, it’s okay, you tried and that counts too. Practice makes perfect. Also know that how others act is not a reflection of your self worth.

Just a gentle reminder to give yourself some love.

Hii girls! Omg I just had an amazing experience with my mom and I needed to share. My mom and I have been chatting about online shopping and my mom had just bought some dress and a maxi skirt. She showed me both and I said they both look cute and how she had such a good taste.

Then she explained the dress didn’t really fit her well and then I noticed she hesitated to ask me something. And I was like mommm what’s up and she asks me if I wanted to try the dress. I said yes!! Omg and girls the dress looked so unexpectedly great on me I almost cried. I needed a hug and told my mom this made me so happy. She was like: ooohh but then it’s so clear to me now. It’s so clear. 🥰 She told my I could have the dress 😊 Then she pulled out other dresses for me to try.

I told her it was so great to have our first “mother daughter”-moment and we both had tears in our eyes of happiness. That’s allll! Sending you all my love ❤️
