Why not comment rather than downvote? This community is about in-depth discussion, that's probably why they prefer comments to downvotes

think we should be able to have healthy and constructive debates/discussions about both without any instance-wide restrictions.

Maybe that could be the topic for another governance vote

UM used to post conservative articles in the past

Allegedly, it was to "post political posts of all angles to that sub, including conservative articles", but some people interpreted this as trolling/sea lioning

I knew by asking the question we would get into the Bluesky components questions 😅

Let's say tomorrow the feddit.uk team decides to self host a PDS provider.

Is it possible for the feddit.uk team to ban someone, or can that only be done by Bluesky? Would that ban be federated to other PDS providers?

Edit: I feel like Bluesky has the same issue than the Fediverse has with federated bans and alts, but because everybody uses Bluesky's centralized components, nobody notices.

Off topic: I forgot how the governance system works, can someone link the post where it was implemented because I’m on mobile and search is really hard here. I don’t know how to see my vote tallied. ___

Upvote or downvote the main post

In a rare meeting with heads of 40 multinational companies, Chinese leader Xi Jinping sought to strike a contrast with protectionist President Donald Trump.

“China was, is, and will be an ideal, safe, and promising investment destination for foreign investors,” Xi told the gathering, which included leaders from American businesses including Pfizer, FedEx and asset manager Blackstone. “Going with China is going with opportunities, believing in China is believing in tomorrow, and investing in China is investing in the future.”
