I just checked, it's as fast as other instances for me

Test from Lemmy

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 weeks ago

No worries, it's understandable! I plan to recruit a few more mods for a few communities I had to migrate following the lemm.ee shutdown to avoid that too.

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 3 weeks ago

I usually use db0 because I'm not sure people I'm talking too will get "/0"

Okay so

Thanks!

Well, now I have to convince @cm0002@lemmy.world to switch too, that might be another task altogether x)

Title edit didn't make it, and comments seem finicky too

Flamingos linked another comment that is much more clear

Growthefediverse was dead, even the moderator himself admitted it. I don’t see the contradiction here tbh

If active posters stop posting to a community, it dies

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago

The community is only as active as regular posters are.

If I or @cm0002@lemmy.world switch to the programming.dev community, over time it will become more active than the dbzer0 version

As I said elsewhere, I'm just tired of not being able to have a single community as an alternative to .ml

Also, it's not about destroying a community, merely locking it. You can reopen it later if issues happen with the programming.dev one

Piefed has those, but the majority of people are obviously still using Lemmy

Back with newsgroups the general rule was to go from general to specific. You start with a general discussion group and when discussions about video games get annoying you create a games group. If then there are too many Baldur’s Gate discussions you create BG. If they are dominated by Baldur’s Gate 3 you create a Baldur’s Gate 3 group. If everyone is fawning over Withers you create a Withers group which of course will be flooded with discussion about the Withers’ tits mod, which shall get its own group.

Meaning you should create a group when demand is there and not the other way around.

Summary

Reddit shares have dropped 50% from their February peak, when the stock had soared over 500% from its $34 IPO price last March.

Much of the early enthusiasm came from AI-related deals allowing Reddit’s content to be used for training models, but recent doubts about long-term growth in the AI sector have dimmed that optimism.

Analysts remain skeptical and some call the stock “super overvalued,” noting Reddit still is not making any money.

Market uncertainty and early investor sell-offs continue to weigh on Reddit and the broader tech sector.

JERUSALEM, April 2 (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu begins a four-day visit to Hungary on Thursday, defying an International Criminal Court arrest warrant over allegations of war crimes in Gaza as Israel has expanded its military operation in the enclave.

As a founding member of the ICC, Hungary is theoretically obliged to arrest and hand over anyone subject to a warrant from the court but Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban made clear when he issued the invitation that Hungary would not respect the ruling.
