Learning Spanish, by the way if anyone wants to join, we have a small Spanish speaking community in !esp@lemm.ee

I also try to post to !languagelearning@sopuli.xyz from time to time

Don't you have all of that information from the comments above?

Thanks for sharing, on my side I think I'll just let all the rumours on the side and wait for the show

I sent a message yesterday via Twitter, I'm not that hopeful she'll get back. Tried via Tumblr too, no more success.

Can you please maybe edit your post to explain that actually Lemmy does this? Something like [Update: it does] or something

[–] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 years ago

They are on feddit.ch so it's all good. The Lemmy documentation should be hosted elsewhere, but it seems to be behind feature development, the latest ones are not explained: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/users/06-other-features.html

I guess I'll make an announcement similar to the one about instance blocking yesterday.

Seems like a lot of people have been missing on those features.

Hello everyone,

I was about to post a link to an interesting article (https://newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/measuring-developer-productivity-bae), but I then remembered that this community only allows questions.

Could we maybe update that rule so that interesting career-related articles can be shared too? The alternative I see is having a dedicated "cscareer" community, but I don't think it would be really useful as the current activity here is quite low

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has spotted the oldest black hole ever seen, an ancient monster with the mass of 1.6 million suns lurking 13 billion years in the universe's past.

The James Webb Space Telescope, whose cameras enable it to look back in time to our universe's beginnings, spotted the supermassive black hole at the center of the infant galaxy GN-z11 just 440 million years after the universe began.

And the space-time rupture isn't alone, it's one of countless black holes that gorged themselves to terrifying scales during the cosmic dawn — the period about 100 million years after the Big Bang when the young universe began glowing for a billion years.

While it is well known that cannabis can cause the munchies, researchers have now revealed a mechanism in the brain that promotes appetite in a set of animal studies at Washington State University.

The discovery, detailed in the journal Scientific Reports, could pave the way for refined therapeutics to treat appetite disorders faced by cancer patients as well as anorexia and potentially obesity.

After exposing mice to vaporized cannabis sativa, researchers used calcium imaging technology, which is similar to a brain MRI, to determine how their brain cells responded. They observed that cannabis activated a set of cells in the hypothalamus when the rodents anticipated and consumed palatable food that were not activated in unexposed mice.

I don't have much more details, so if any expert can provide them, please do!
