Not fussed either way, if someone wants the little boost from the initial +1 they see from their own upvote, more power to them.
I'm happy starting at zero and seeing where the community takes me.
Loving how raw this all feels too.
Even if all this ends up being a niche thing, I’ll still get my social fix with likeminded randoms on the internet, hopefully with less doomscroll.
I’ve certainly been more interested in commenting here vs Reddit, just because it seems far less toxic, the slight wrong thing posted on Reddit and the pile on was a real danger.
Seeing many, many posts where simple questions were asked by newcomers seeking help with the obligatory blind downvote is awful for newbies.
Interested to see where all of this leads to and very appreciative of what Earnest has achieved.
It might be rough but I’m sure ready.
Warhammer Boltgun, Forza Horizon 4 & Fallout 76.
Boltgun is incredible, best new game I’ve bought this year.
Fallout 76 (don’t judge) is great just to burn some time doing events with randoms and joining public teams.
I’ve really gotten into Forza Horizon 4 again recently and am also playing through that on the Deck.
I’ve added a 1tb SSD to mine so it’s running Windows and Linux meaning I’m pretty much free to play my whole library. Love the thing.
As someone who used to love r/selfhosted and all the stuff posted on there I'll have a look at hosting my own instance when I get the time to figure out how it all works.
I didn't even think about the privacy/tracking aspect. My Pihole isn't blocking anything and my Ublock isn't blocking anything. This is quite refreshing to see.
I bought a £20 thin client off of eBay to use as a simple file/Emby/pihole and Pivpn server running Ubuntu Server LTS for my home lab
Works great.
