I can second this.

I was at the queer march yesterday in Berlin. And the amount of attacks and intimidation the police did to the march was unbelievable. Whereas the march was one of the most peaceful demonstrations I have ever seen. All the people marginalised, gay, trans, queer, muslim, jew, arab, black, asian, standing in solidarity against discrimination and crimes against humanity.

The police has so much power in Germany that it feels like a fascist police state. Even more scary is that when I look at any kind of media, I see these demonstrations demonised. IE the only piece of news from this demo yesterday is that someone throwing a glass bottle to a police. Like wtf police stopped, beat and arrested the demonstrators tens of times yet this is the news?

Assuming all the information on the internet was true, this could have been reevaluated.

But in today’s world unfortunately internet is more fabricated information than real information

When I first emigrated to Germany, I had so high hopes and opinions of this country and people living here. I had seen protests, counter protests, people talking about hard topics, cherishing democracy.

Now, I am disappointed. Looking for a way out. I feel like a criminal because I am against genocide and I support the ICC. I mean a court that it’s main responsibility is to prevent tragedies such as the Holocaust should be supported right?

Things are moving in a direction that makes no sense to me anymore. I feel like an alien

There is another aspect of this also. I could generate Ghibli style images a few years ago using better image generation models like stable diffusion or Midjourney. OpenAI is so lagging behind in terms of image generation it is comical at this point. But they get all the media coverage for these things as if they are inventing something out of thin air.

Most governments ignored the IP issues when other models were already doing these violations. Professionals are not using OpenAI. OpenAI only makes it so that these products reach big audiences. Then they become extremely accessible with the downside being that they are dumbed down. Thus, losing a lot of functionality.

This may feel bad short term but this is actually good long term. It opens up the possibility for competitors for similar map services to exist. When google combined their search engine product with their maps product, everyone had to automatically use their map product. This is very monopolistic

I never thought of this as that. Now that I think about it, in the early internet days there were many people who became successful and famous solely because they produced content which people reacted very negatively. So it goes back to the old saying no advertisement is bad

But they did vote for this. Whenever I saw Trump speak, he always emphasized on how he will do tax breaks to the big corps. He never proposed a solution on how to help the working class people.

Now I feel bad. I use paypal because in some cases of purchases it is the only means I can use. What is shady about them?
