I had quite a few gay friends growing up. Was neither here nor there for me. They were my friends.

We went to an Anglican church. I was 6-7 and asked where is the god person. I was told you have to believe. I said I will believe when I see it. Never went back. Parents stopped then too, my dad was only an obligatory follower. My mom I found out later was to say the least not impressed with religion. I remain the same over 50 years later.

All exhibits will remain the same until they’re told by the child rapist or whoever else gets in later to change it. That is my point. How can it be trusted ever again if they give in so easily? I was around 10-12 when I went and not sure which one. My family called it the Smithsonian Institute.

I went to the Smithsonian Institute in the 70’s. It was fascinating.

Now it just a sad fascist state promoter.

Will never believe or trust a single thing that is exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute ever again.

If I was in charge I would shut it down before letting the dictator say what is and is not allowed to save the reputation of the museum.

I feel AI is going to make a whole generation of mush brains if it persists.

Perfection.

Yup, as I approached retirement age and my body decided to get fucked up 98% of the support I did for clients was remote. Lasted about 5 years before I was not able to continue. Just need to get experience in an area that supports remote work.

More a tariff on life itself.

It looks a bit stoned?

Yes us too. We were extremely lucky as our Doctor did not make us jump through any hoops and was very helpful. Without him I am pretty sure it would have been much harder. We do not need constant care for our ailments. So far it’s been 5yrs for me and over 10 for my wife that we have not yet had to renew.

At this point I would go to hell. At least you know what your getting and I want to visit Ozzie as I hear he can come and go from hell as he pleases.

⚠️ Warning: EMERGENCY ALERT ⚠️

A 34 time convicted felon and rapist is loose in Canada. He is old and delusional and may have lost his way. Hopefully he will be apprehended and arrested as soon as he is spotted.

Do not approach (hide yo wife, hide yo kids) or he may try to deport you.

This asshat needs to be gone yesterday.

Would not catch me dead in the US right now

'When conservatives lose their principles, Ontario loses its way,'

I am old, I am new to Lemmy. Not sure if this allowed but IMO it is really important. This is from the Reddit post by user SaveDnet-FRed0. If this is not allowed downvote and I will remove. I also agree with what he has to say. He also says it better than I could anyhoo.

Titled “We can never judge Americans again if Bill 5 goes unopposed by the people of Ontario.”

“Bill 5 is going to screw us if it doesn't get some serious overhaul. We're talking a roll back of fundamental labor protections.

To name just a few sources that highlight this: https://ofl.ca/materials/submission-re-bill-5-protect-ontario-by-unleashing-our-economy-act-2025/2025-05-26-oflsubmission-bill5/

https://ontario.psac.com/bill-5-protect-ontario-by-unleashing-our-economy-act-2025/

Are there also major problems with how it treats the environment and indigenous rights? Yep. But guess what won't piss off the people enough to move their collective asses: The environment and indigenous rights.

That's why they're highlighting these issues. They're hoping the noise of it will drown out things that would unite the majority of Canadians. I'm not saying they're not important. I'm saying Ford knows exactly how to play the people. Environment and Indigenous relations instantly turns this to liberal v conservative. No. Fuck that. It's a damn trap. You want to fight this bill? Highlight the thing that will piss every worker in Ontario off.

We need to move against this. We need to organize a protest that is more than just waving some signs. We need to pick a work day when these ass hats are in office and stare them down so it's actually mildly disruptive. I know that's not easy. I know that's a risk. That's the point.

If we can't do this, we need to shut the fuck up and sit down when other people mock Americans for not fixing their government. If we can't mobilize against this in a meaningful way, we are just as apathetic and ineffective.”
