I've been using a Zowie EC1 for years. It mimicks the shape of the old MS intellimouse explorer 3.0,

I turned on support for cracked clients on my server, because about half the people who play on it missed the deadline. A lot of longtime players I play with will only pick it up for a few months once every 3-5 years, and so obviously they weren't paying attention to this arbitrary money grab deadline.

A tragedy, for sure. Vimm's Lair also happens to be one of the best examples of a great Web 1.0 site. It gives me a warm feeling, browsing around static, text-mostly pages.

I've got mad respect for the people I've known who did that. They've got us so whipped that we're scared to give them the same lack of courtesy that they give us.

Fuck 'em

Employers are dumb as hell for not trying listening to experienced workers, and they're especially dumb for not even trying to retain them. It sucks for everyone else who's going to be inconvenienced by your leaving, but the structure of the system makes that inevitable. Bosses seem incapable of the bus factor, and I think it's a major reason why organizations become less efficient and more chaotic over time.

Mind-blowing that this ran on PS2 hardware. Still some of the most fluid and natural animations ever.

When one party wins two consecutive elections, that's one party rule.

Definately a slog. It's moderately interesting to see Marx engage with the concepts of fixed and circulating capital on their own terms, and just kind of eviscerating Smith (and then Ricardo in chapter 11). Obviously these guys loomed much larger on the stage of economic theory in the mid and late 19th century... but present day mainstream economics has moved pretty far beyond them, and so these epic takedowns are not that relevant or interesting.

I wonder if reactionaries only take pro-palestenian stances because they like that Amin al-Husseini collaborated with Hitler.

I'm certain that plenty of younger people would ride weird shit if they could afford it.
