Hahaha I’m hoping at least someone on here can read it, but don’t feel bad that you can’t. I’ve been learning Chinese for going on a year now and I still feel mostly illiterate. I basically just said I love braised beef, and asked what peoples favorite food is and if they can speak mandarin.
Workers rights in China are one of the only places in the world that actually are gaining more rights and protections, year over year. This isn’t the 80s anymore.
The US has subsidized Tesla alone more than China has subsidized all their electric car companies combined. They don’t believe China is massively subsidizing the market for green tech, they believe that they are unable to compete on a fair playing field and so will attempt to tip the scales in their favor.
And here we see the aforementioned snob in its natural habitat; gatekeeping.
Most pc gamers play on shitty integrated gpu laptops and play stuff like LoL, they’ll be just fine with 30fps in heavy games like BG3. PC snobs, however, will complain incessantly.
I didn’t get it as a kid, but it’s so clearly a metaphor for the decision to build freeways through marginalized communities that happened in real life. Thanks for posting this here, I hadn’t seen this movie in probably 15 years, and it holds up really well. Too bad there wasn’t a real life Eddie Valiant back then.
Geez yeah that’s a bad book to praise. Not to read, but it’s so clearly anti-materialist in its analysis.
I’ve been feeling really fatigued lately myself. It’s been hard to get the stuff I need done. I finally ordered more collagen pills and vitamins, I’m hoping that can help get my energy level up and pain levels down enough that I don’t feel like crap when my wife gets here next month so we can do all the exciting stuff I planned without me being a drag.
If you have sunshine, try to just relax in the sun for a bit. I know not everyone agrees, but the sun is like a battery recharge for me. If I take a nap in the sun I wake up feeling so much better usually.
Anyway, we’re struggling together, so I hope to bring a feeling of connection to you, you are not alone. Life is exhausting, especially these days. Cheers, comrade!
That’s great, thanks for correcting me! I saw it used as 拉面 in a ramen restaurant and it translated to ramen when I used Google translate so I just sort of put it into my head and never looked into it further. They must have been using the mandarin characters in the restaurant, because it does indeed mean noodle in mandarin.
I paid $1500 for a 91 Subaru Legacy with 200k miles like 15 years ago, so $2000 in this market doesn’t sound too bad tbh. I’d take it to get looked at before committing any money though.
Edit: oof, it sat idle for years. Definitely get it checked out, could be gunked up or filled with mice holes by now.
My schizophrenic friend has been on the section 8 wait list for 8 years.
