That wasn't me, but I found out about it relatively recently and I'm happy to share it.
Cows and other farm animals need a lot of food:
More than three-quarters of global agricultural land is used for livestock, despite meat and dairy making up a much smaller share of the world's protein and calories. We use a lot of land to grow crops for biofuels and other industrial products, and an even bigger share is used to feed livestock.

Sure, I merely gave an example. We agree on the point that a reduction in meat consumption would make sense from an economic standpoint. It surprises me that it is not more important to the EU or the governments to stimulate this change.
Certainly. Crazy to me is how much it costs and, therefore, how much could be saved by changing it. Imagine how much could be saved if most people followed a vegan diet for example. Alternatively, think about how much potential lab produced meat has.
Absolutely crazy considering 1/3 of the EU budget goes to the agricultural sector.
