No. It’s the players. Coaching might cost us a win or two, but we’re one of the worst teams in football for two years running because of the players. Most notably the QB.

I want the Bears to draft a middle round QB no matter what. Even if we take Caleb we should draft another QB prospect if the value makes sense. You can’t have too many lottery tickets at QB.
Maybe Bagent is the answer at QB2. Fields isn’t the answer at QB1, but if we go with your proposal, we still need to grab another QB who could maybe become the next Russ, Kirk or Brady.
If we take Caleb and move on from Fields we should still grab a QB for the exact same reason. If Caleb gets hurt or busts we should have another roll of the dice on the roster.
Next year, we should draft another QB unless we have a absolute stud at QB with zero questions. And if Caleb is that stud, we still draft a QB every 3 years just in case.
QB is more important than every other position by a factor of 10.
No one is excusing the coaching.

Or the good way, "go out there and be you, let it rip."
This is incredibly stupid. In that situation you need to play smart football. You absolutely need to reinforce the no turnovers message. “Be you” is some idiotic Nagy-level meaningless junk. If Fields isn’t capable of running a 4 minute drive because “that’s not him” then there’s never been a more damning thing said about him.

He should. Everyone has been begging Getsy to let Fields run. And here you get it. He ends up settling for FGs on every drive and our offense has to grind out every fucking yard.
Splash plays are how you win football games and Fields is simply incapable of getting the ball downfield consistently.

We have young players at LT, RT and LG. I think I’d prefer we address Center though the draft so we can keep a young core together for the next 5-6 years.
A veteran might be a safer short term answer but if there’s a high quality Center available when we’re picking on day two we need to pull the trigger.
