I think I like how they're condensing the trilogy together chronologically (looks like Sophon will be in season 1, possibly even some Yun Tianming stuff (lotta speculation on who John Bradley's character might be). The books had a lot of jumping around.

My friends who wouldn't watch the Tencent version with me are excited for this. I hope it's good. Can't be worse than the BiliBili Dark Forest animation at least.

Gonna watch this series with them and tell them it's actually about semiconductor politics.

This is probably the best free playlist. They used to have it in 4k on youtube too, but looks like they took down all but the first two episodes recently to try and get people to use their app. It's also on Amazon streaming.

I really enjoyed it. Kinda slow at times but the actors for Da Shi and young Ye Wenjie are fantastic.

Also a time-traveling cyborg with a laser sword. TES lore is weird.

Nasal naloxone (narcan) came out in 2015 and made it way easier to use. It's expensive though - I keep one in my purse but only because my work supplies them in case I see someone OD in the streets (I work in houseless services). Before that you'd have to do an intramuscular injection with a big scary needle (have some of those too, fortunately never had to use them).

Most of the clients I've spoken to about it didn't know that the injection form exists, but I've heard lots of horror stories of "the before times" where people would OD and their friends would have no idea what to do but wait it out.

I played bass a lot as a teenager and I've been trying to pick it up again recently. It's very frustrating because I still remember everything I knew back then, but now my fingers are slow and clumsy and get tired and ouchy after short practices. I really need to build back my finger strength.

I've also thought about getting back into cello - I played as a kid and into college, but trying to major in music sucked all the fun out of it. Might be enjoyable again as an adult, but cellos are so expensive and I don't even know where to start in buying one.

We could start by trying to honor some of the treaties that America shit all over, or stop violating agreements whenever they inconvenience capital (like with DAPL).

I don't know what a fully "decolonized America" would look like, but there are a lot of concrete places where we could give the idea a start, see what happens, and go from there.

Those prices are in pesos though, so like $12 US for a combo, $3.50 for a snickers bar.

Looked into this train though, sounds pretty bad what with the environmental impact and the indigenous opposition.

Am I missing the dunk?

You're being called illiterate because you've demonstrated that you don't know the history of the events you are speaking so confidently on. You've claimed that Chinese communists are at fault for repression that predates their existence, while mashing up historical events that happened decades apart. You've shown no actual understanding of history, and your entire ideology shows that - you would rather engage in utopian fantasies than look at how systems have actually been implemented in reality. You back an ideology that is nothing but a wordy justification for "give the rich more power" and bolster it with a propagandized child's understanding of history (communism means famine and repression right?).

People in this thread have replied with shitposts, but also well-sourced refutations for your claims. You've given us your thoughts on things with nothing backing them up.
