Sure hope this vendor reaches out to me about shipping my meds soon. This is slightly longer than she has taken to get me tracking in the past, so clearly I should catastrophize things.
Like a non-distilled tequila? I see no reason that wouldn't work. I still have all my old brewing gear so I'll probably pivot to fruit wines.
Unfortunately I also still have about 30lbs of honey I need to offload or use somehow. I might do one last brew for my friends, idk. Pre-vegan goods is a weird edge case - I'm not grossed out like with meat or leather, but I definitely won't be buying any more knowing what goes into it.
The milk sugars will ferment, but it won't be pretty. The fats will not ferment though - they will turn rancid. Back when I brewed mead (:im-vegan: now) I'd give the first fermenting stage about a month before siphoning it off. That's a long time for the cream to do some very gross and dangerous things.
Looked for the thread thinking "hey that sounds pretty interesting, dwarf fortress is cool."
They added cream of mushroom soup to it.
Story time. One of my gaming friends is a bit older than the rest of us, a single dad with young son, all around kind and wholesome dude. I'll call him Dad. He used to have a roommate who was a childhood friend, who was afflicted with very serious social deficits - he wasn't usually malicious, but constantly did or said the wrong things and was tolerated because our friend was incredibly patient and protective of him. And most weekends, this awkward friend would babysit so that Dad could come play DND with us - a nice arrangement.
A couple years back, Dad decided that his son was old enough to come to game night with us, and play Roblox or whatever in the back room while we rolled dice and played pretend. This also meant that awkward roommate was freed from his responsibilities, and could also come play with us!
We make our characters and start session one. Roommate described his character as a 6'6 drow woman in a silver chainmail bikini, and he immediately started aggressively flirting with the npcs. We probably should have ended things there but just told him to cut it out and tried to keep going.
He "jokingly" made a pass at my sorcerer and I "jokingly" cast invisibility to get away and told him to stop. Then he did it again. My boyfriend was sitting right next to me. I was getting annoyed cause we had hobgoblins to fight.
Then the killing blow - he asked how my character could resist a "Nubian goddess" like his character. He and I were the only White people at the table - Dad and most of the other players were Black. We called it for the night while Dad took him home and tried to explain why that was a super fucked up thing to do and say, and we never invited him back.
Dude moved out not long after. Apparently being disinvited from our game became a real sore point in their relationship and he never stopped bringing it up. Also accused Dad of keeping him in slavery, pretty wild.
AI art exists and will continue to exist until butlerian jihad. Maybe that is bad, I don't know and couldn't come up with a coherent reasoning why. The bourgeoisie is currently stealing work from artists to train their models, and then selling that work back to us for profit. I'm pretty sure that is bad.
Open source projects like Stable Diffusion though? Sure the datasets are built on data taken without permission, but I pirate movies and TV all the time without a second thought. I wouldn't judge someone for copying data even if it was from some indie developer (though I might pay for such a product if I liked it). It's even some consolation to me that this is an area where the open source version is just about as good at the commercial one, and I can't get myself too worked up about it.
Aside from just disliking the aesthetics in general, I think there's a big difference between buying AI art through a subscription and just rolling your own. I'll sometimes use SD for DND character portraits for instance, but would never pay for any sort of ai subscription or use it in a commercial work.
A lot of people don't separate the real labor and environmental issues of generative ai from the gut feeling of "ugly computer art bad."
It's been a bad year for boats in general.
Land gang stay winning.
I got curious about the name change on wikipedia from "Euromaidan Revolution" to "Revolution of Dignity" so I searched reddit for "revolution of dignity wikipedia" and found this old thread. It's just interesting that a decade ago reddit posters in mainstream subs like ELI5 would even acknowledge the political and ethnic divide between the east and west.
To be clear, it's not that it's the majority opinion in the thread or anything, but people are able to talk about the divide without being slandered as Russian bots and fascists or anything like you'd get for suggesting in 2024 that Ukraine probably won't reclaim Crimea or the Donbas.
It's fun reading old reddit posts about Euromaidan and seeing people like "why not just split the country in half and the east can go to Russia?"
Like well done, posters from 10 years ago - you called it.
Nah these guys were pretty cool. Little confused, had the right spirit. The BPP and rest of the rainbow coalition eventually talked them out of using the Confederate flag iirc.
I stopped watching Game of Thrones once it outpaced the books and I had no interest in the other show, but I've been hoping for a Dunk and Egg show ever since GoT was still good. Those were fun books.
