Twelve local Jewish organizations declared they will stop funding the Oregon Food Bank over them making a very both-sides "starvation is bad" statement.

There are stores in my city just kinda openly selling them. There was a pretty high-profile arrest at one of them a few months back (cops showed up while the line was still snaking around the block), but there are still stores advertising them.

It constantly treads the line of being a parody, and it is good for my sanity to believe that they understand that.

When you're "as far left as they come", anything to the left of you must actually just be fascism. Communists are just red fascists, anarchists are fascists whenever they do anything cool or use violence. Only people exactly as liberal as I am get to be called left.

Millennial, never really read Mad but was vaguely aware of it. I know of Alfred E Neuman though.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.

Back in high school I got a fretless j-bass for this reason. Steve Di Giorgio's work with Death left an impression on teenage me.

They just sound better and are more fun to play. Also I was in orchestra as a kid and playing without frets is a flex.

It's really bad for Chinese in general (hey here's a character with no context with an ambiguous computer-generated voice! No, we won't tell you the pinyin so you can figure out wtf we're saying) but the cartoon voices killed it completely.

Does Duolingo still do the stupid cartoony voices? That (probably fortunately) really burned me on the app. It became impossible to understand what they were saying, what tones, etc.

My heart is filling with hate in a way that I feel is very bad for my spirit.
