Even if the domain isn't using Lemmy in the name I would think the page still has the word Lemmy in the metadata so it should still show up if you just treated it like how you append reddit to the end of a search.
Is it possible for someone to build a mastodon client that can also display and follow Lemmy/kbin groups so that they display correctly? I would love to switch over to my defcon.social account and do everything from that profile.

I think they bring up a good point and just like Reddit isn't going to die overnight, Lemmy and the like are not going to see widespread adoption until the product matures.
It does seem like a silly complaint. I get it's hard for people who were used to car talk every weekend but at some point it gets stale and you move on. I'm sure there is a way to play them via streaming if you want to.
