It's not just that.

Aboriginal people died at a rate of 0.13 per 100 prisoners, compared to a death rate of 0.21 per 100 prisoners for the total prison population.

[...]

The same AIC report calculated that Indigenous people as a whole died in police custody at more than six times the rate of non-Indigenous people as a whole – 0.61 per 100,000 people, compared to 0.09 per 100,000 people.

As a prison population, they don't die at a higher rate. As a whole peoples they do.

And the dad is the one who bought those relationship problems to move in with his son.

The dad has 100% already pulled his son into this before the mother ever said anything.

And what would a good father do champ?

Mate, first off he’s not your best friend.

Could anyone here imagine if their friends did something so horrible to their mother that they caused her to break down upset? I wouldn’t fucking go hang out with them afterwards, like fuck he’s your friend.

He is your father, and apparently a terrible one if this is the life lessons he wants to impart on his son that it’s okay to be an immature fuck and cheat over get a divorce.

Cutting him off 100% doesn’t sound right, but you have clearly chosen his side and to stand by him despite how wrong it is — you’re going to have to work hard to make up for your poor choice.

They’re not doing it to “be different”

Also your excuse is pathetic, “rich people are worse, so fuck it?”, do you apply that logic to say throwing trash out your window? I mean the environment already has bottles in it and rich companies do worse, so why justify not litter.

Individual actions are not the solution, but they are part of the process.

Instead of complaining that people are suggesting we go back from a rather recent change in hygiene practices to a less destructive form than what capitalism has told us we need to buy, why don’t you do something to better the world?

Let’s be real, they wouldn’t stop at only one company.

You know how the more repressed countries, are the ones most likely to look up the freakiest porn online?

Same shit, the Seppos and Brits are so literarily repressed that online is their only avenue to get the words out without fear of swat raid or license fine.

We don't need to bloody fucking overcompensate.

I doubt much will change. Much the same as the Greens funnel into Lab, Nat votes and support will still go to Lib.

There's very little to reach across the aisle with in terms of policy or party support. Unless Lab look at dropping Greens and trying to pick up Nats, which well they're politically not that unaligned.

Centre-to-right major party. Labor haven't been left since the 70s with their embrace of neoliberal policies. The unions and workers have basically no influence on the party over the big business side now.

They're called the Liberals, because that's what liberalism is. Americans might better know this as classic liberalism, but the rest of the world knows it as liberalism.

Australia is 22 weeks at minimum wage by the government. Most businesses also offer an additional 12 weeks at full wage. You can take up to a year off without your employer being able to take issue.

Good on 'em all, especially the newspaper salesmen. I'd love to know what the old cunt said behind the beep.

The House of Commons Defence Committee has announced it is putting the AUKUS partnership under the microscope.

The trilateral pact is supposed to see Australia acquire nuclear-powered submarines, at a cost of hundreds of billions of dollars.

They should scrap uniforms entirely imo

Australia currently spends around 2.3 per cent of our GDP on the aged pension, but that figure is falling (gross domestic product (GDP) is the value of all the goods and services created in a year).

"It'll go down to around 2 per cent by 2060," says Ms Delahunty.

"This is against a backdrop of an aging population with increased health needs.

"It's bucking the trend internationally. Most OECD countries are [spending] 9 per cent and growing, and they will be above 10 per cent by 2060."

Donald Trump is preparing to unleash sweeping tariffs on US imports tomorrow, on what he is calling Liberation Day.

Australia is anticipating tariffs of up to 20 per cent on all exports to the US but the government has told industry the final outcome is still uncertain.

A fire at a gas pipeline operated by Malaysia's state energy firm Petronas has injured dozens of people on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, local authorities say.

Some residents have been evacuated from homes near the pipeline, but others remain trapped in properties impacted by the blaze, a local disaster management unit says.

"Australia does mirror some of the gender gap trends, but with a bit of a twist," said Intifar Chowdhury, a lecturer in government at Flinders University.

Youth issues will be ‘overrepresented’ this election, with baby boomers outnumbered for first time

Dr Intifar Chowdhury, a lecturer in government at Flinders University, spoke with ABC TV earlier about the generational trends on display at this election.

She said millenials and gen Z would outnumber baby boomers for the first time, who are down to 33% of the voting cohort.
