Secure boot is only one small link in a chain of things that need to be working in order to have a system that is only halfway resistant against evil maids.

If you're running Garuda, the rest of the chain is not present in any way.

Auch 2.8t kriegt man mit 100ps auf zu hohe Geschwindigkeiten mit denen man "Blödsinn machen kann", dauert nur länger.

Indeed the right sides of the graph start at 0. The left side does not.

Note that 2000/h (10^3) aren't all that significant when there's already 14000000 (10^7) users present.

What a terrible graph. That "huge" spike is a mere 0.5% increase. That might as well be noise.

Don't believe any graph whose y-axis starts at any value but 0 people.

You could count anything that is depended upon (a node in the dependency tree) as a library and anything that isn'd (a leaf) an app.

Note that some end-usor applications are not "leaf" packages but nodes as they are both a library and an app (i.e. yt-dlp).

Ich stell dann kurz mal meinen city-e-flitzer vor deiner Tür ab, ja? Wenn deine Kinder ohne von so leichtgewichtigen Fahrzeugen, wie meinem, überfahren zu werden über die Straße jaywalken wollen können sie ja kurz hinten drauf klettern, um sich umzuschauen.

Die größte Gefahr eines Autos ist dessen kinetische Energie und die hängt halt eben ausschließlich von Masse und Geschwindigkeit ab: E = 1/2 m * v^2
Geschwindigkeit ist an den meisten Orten schon begrenzt und soll ja wie beschrieben noch weiter eingeschränkt werden, aber Masse ist halt praktisch unreguliert; selbst Vorstadtpanzer kratzen höchstens grade mal so am Gewichtslimit.

Das ist so eine Sache, die z.B. bei den heiligen weltrettenden unglaublich klimaneutralen*** BEVs der Zukunft™ ganz gerne mal übersehen wird.

Organic Maps has no traffic data

I'd gladly pay a couple €/month for a live traffic and construction data service from OM.

It wouldn't even need to be unfree as the service's value would almost entirely be its data, not the software which facilitates it.

Nah. That's getting into arsehole filter territory. The only drama about this you will see will be incited by its users.

I don’t mind seeing certain instances, but if the almighty mods decree it, we have to cut off all contact.

A current issue is that defederation is the only tool for both purposes. The only possible way for a user to not see content from a certain instance is for their admin to defederate from it.

With the features separated, much fewer instances would need to go through instance admins but that doesn't mean none of them should. There are instances that are just generally disagreeable/unethical. Fortunately only a few but they do exist.
