Very cool up until the part where it says it's run by Amazon.

I don't want every retail transaction to be logged by Amazon and I especially don't want them to have biometrics data of me. Fuck off.

Become a bank and comply with the respective regulation if you want to run a banking system.

terrible camera

Phone cameras quality does not really depend on hardware these days. It's all software.

Get yourself a hacked Google Camera. Night and Day change.

I’m gaming in moonlight so it needs a good decoder

Almost any modern SoC can decode 1080p60 HEVC in real-time. That part is handled in dedicated hardware; the speed of the CPU or GPU next to it does not matter.

personal use exists

That would be news to me. Could you give a source for that? Because it'd mean I would be allowed to copy movies, music etc. for my "personal use" and also give them away because I'm not seeking profit, right?

Copyright extends everywhere, no matter what use. There are certain specific limits such as licenses, fair use and private copies but outside of those, no, you may not make a copy and yes, even loading a file into memory counts as "making a copy".

If you learn to draw by tracing Mickey Mouse, but then professionally draw original works, you haven’t infringed copyright.

Tracing Mickey is already copyright infringement. It's insane but that's how it works.

I think copyright is a weird idea in this day and age where you're almost always standing on the shoulders of giants too but that doesn't make it go away. Best we can do is hack it (copyleft).

copying style (not protected)

Not copyrightable but I'm not sure whether a style could be trademarked instead.

using for training (not infringing)

Whether that's infringing or not is hotly debated topic. Key point here is whether training falls under fair use. If it doesn't, training on copyrighted material without a license would be infringing under most jurisdictions.

in the US there is no federal protection around IP rights for voices and case law to the opposite.

Because US == world. I'd love to leave this implication behind on Reddit.

Distros that don't respect your privacy are hard to find, so privacy isn't really a factor here. You're just going to get everyone's favourite distro here, regardless of whether it fits your other requirements.

What kind of hardware do you use?
How stable or fresh would you like your distro to be?
What wind of desktop experience do you prefer?

Also note that the apps you use (on your PC or in the browser) usually far outshadow the OS w.r.t. privacy intrusion.

Um, no. Copyright exists and it applies to everything that is copyrightable. It doesn't go away when you slap AI onto your imitative ML model.

Kept people in check

I don't think so dude.

I don't think there is a way to remove that. "Karma" is just the sum of upvotes on all of a users' posts/comments and that info is always accessible.

We could make the decision to not show that value in the front-ends of course but you'll likely have very different opinions on that and some front-ends will inevitably show karma.

They certainly have some issues but it's not nearly that bad. Note that you might also find many people who didn't install the proprietary drivers in which case you can expect just about nothing to work as it should.

lemmygrad and exploding-heads I can understand but why lemmy.ml? It's a general purpose instance with no known bot/Nazi/Tanky/other fascist/etc. infestion.

Custom ROMs are a thing of course. I use them too. Custom ROMs are, again, the exception rather than the norm however; most people use the stock ROMs and that's what I was referencing.
