job growth in June was the weakest in more than four years

A.k.a peak covid time...

The only difference here is there isn't a global disease affecting the economy, just a massive disease in the white house..

"We developed RE engine, we can't not use it even though it absolutely sucks and apparently cannot be fixed on PC!"

I have a very strong suspicion that a large number of people would simply work "less" like "quiet quitting" (I hate that term.)

The majority of people I've worked with don't like asking for raises. It's not that they don't think they deserve more, they just have this aversion to going and initiating the conversation. I literally fought for a round of raises for everyone at the factory I work at to be considered because everyone I spoke to said they hadn't gotten one in ~5 years... I suspect they'll get envious of the people making more than them, but they won't have the guts to go ask for what they're worth and they'll stew in their envy just working less as retaliation.

God I hate these fucking scumbags... As they're releasing this information they're literally lying about what it says and what it means...

"As you can clearly see in the new photos recently declassified, the Democrats were lying! There are obviously only 3 lights here!!"

Absolute fucking scum. Bad enough wall street can fuck it all up and lose our retirement money, 401ks aren't mandatory taxes. This is a mandatory payment to fucking Wall Street so some disgustingly wealthy asshole can make themselves more disgustingly wealthy with no skin in the game... Just pure profit

If only maga were exposed to this kind of news maybe they'd finally recognize what a corrupt piece of shit Trump is....

...But who am I kidding of course they wouldn't, they'd move the goalpost and somehow say Pelosi bad and Trump good all in the same sentence.

I work in similar condition, but unfortunately the owner has a nice air conditioned office on the off chance he's even at the factory so he doesn't give a shit. After 7 years of this crap I finally started recording the temperatures and humidity this summer so I can calculate the heat index and then I can write up an email to send to the health and safety team that I'm part of at the end of the summer to really give some data as to what we actually deal with. Maybe someone at your factory can do the same thing to try to make an argument? It's one thing to check a thermostat that's reading a dry temp of 88-92, but if you were able to show in real terms that's actually 100°+ it might help.

Not even halfway through the summer and we've already had over 2 weeks of 100°F+ temperatures... Hit 106° 3 times and 109°F was the worst so far. Hell I'd be thrilled if they installed some system that only activated at ~90°F heat index, I don't need 67° perfection, just anything to not be roasting all the damn time.

The mitocorndriog is the powerhouse of the American.

That's how hot it has been in the factory I work in for like the last week already... It's disgusting. Between 102F-106F

Hope they get some relief soon!

Probably a healthier way to put it than I do.

"Shut up! You're an idiot. Just shut up moron."

Trump administration:

"We hear there's a Wonderful Community starting up in Arkansas, really great stuff, it should be a model for the rest of the country! We're denying all federal aid to any state that refuses to follow the lead of this Wonderful Community!"

US media company Paramount Global has agreed to pay $16 million (£13.5m) to settle a legal dispute with US President Donald Trump regarding an interview it broadcast on CBS with former Vice President Kamala Harris.

As usual corporations looking for special treatment, hoping to have their merger accepted, refuse to fight the fascist...

I wish someone would sue Fox for fucks sake..

91°F (32.7°C) in the factory I work at.

The law states "all factories must maintain a reasonable temperature and humidity."

Nowhere is reasonable ever defined. I am mildly infuriated. And very hot lol

Edit: 94° (34.4C) now and this post has made it close to the top of "Hot"... The gods are having a laugh lol

25 minute exposure of NGC 2264 taken with a seestar s50. Testing the new denoise function added in the most resent seestar firmware update.

No further post processing so colors seem to be a bit off as a result of the denoise feature, but otherwise an amazing result as most images from the seestar s50 contain a lot of RGB noise!

Hey Lemmy! Time to do some digging!

I was sent a link from a friend about some Totally Cool™ guy who has close ties to JD Vance: Curtis Yarvin. Anyone aware of this guy and his desires? I won't put the link in here as my last post was removed because of it, but a comment within the thread is copied below.

Apparently Japanese media covered the story as was posted to Reddit, but there doesn't seem to be too much talk of this in the US.

From a comment in the reddit discussion: “Curtis Yarvin is a far-right ‘intellectual’ that wants to end democracy and install what I can only really describe as cyberpunk feudalism. He’s suggested turning the United States into a patchwork of corporate fiefdoms ruled with absolute impunity by CEOs, as well as putting mandatory ankle monitors on all unemployed and poor people. This sounds like a joke, but I’m serious. JD Vance is not just a fan of him intellectually, but also a personal friend. As someone who has known about Yarvin for several years, it’s been really concerning seeing how he could potentially become a Rasputin-like figure in the event of a Trump victory. Beyond this, Yarvin has also spent many years advocating for what sounds eerily like Project 2025.”

For those familiar with Star Citizen lore, he apparently wants to turn the US into the Stanton system “lol” …
