Isn't there a term for what they're doing, wasting the court's time? And a penalty for it? I think it's called 'Barratry'.

Remember, this guy's entire family, the DeVos family, has their claws in lots of US policy.

What seems particularly evil to me is the effect it has on resumes of the actors, artists, musicians, etc. -- they now have nothing concrete to point to for an entire block of their careers, if they can't point to a finished product.

And the point about destroying series just to deny workers their union residuals... wow.

Well, if I had any urges to watch recent movies or TV, I sure don't now. F these money-grubbing vampires. Most of the writing is now so formulaic and tepid anyhow...

Indeed, and we might need to be ready to play some hardball 'tit for tat' if it comes to it. However we've always been 'the mouse' to their 'elephant' so that might not be feasible.

Wow, let's become even more dependent on Musk, what could possibly go wrong?

Hah, no -- oops, will fix :) Thanks

.. and even just economically, AFAIK we have treaties we would have difficulty getting out of; such as to provide them with water. We ship a lot of our raw resources (beef, lumber) down to them only to buy back finished goods, stuff like that. Canada will be in a real jam if we feel a need to distance ourselves properly from the USA.

Gee, no one could have predicted that AI might be dangerous if given access to nukes.

Depends, what are the samples used? If it's all sad trombones it might not be so great. Then again ...

And people wonder why Snowden went outside of "whistleblower protection" avenues.

We all know such protections are useless if those exposed are powerful enough. Best to get it out beyond their control before they even know they have been outed.

At this point, the best outcome would be for Biden to self-sacrifice, and go on the ultra-offensive:

"Oh, SCOTUS is supporting the fact a President can commit insurrection, and is absolutely immune, or at least can't be prosecuted while or after being President?

Fine. I have just signed Executive Order #XXX, dissolving the SCOTUS and unseating each of this handpicked list of State and Federal Judges, effective immediately, replacing them with this other (waves big sheet of papers) hand-picked list.

Also, I have just signed Executive Order #YYY, calling for the immediate arrest and indefinite detention of this handpicked list (waves the thid, EVEN LARGER pile in his other hand) of Enemies Of The Republic.

Furthermore, I am resigning as President of the United States immediately, please stand and sing Our National Anthem to welcome President Kamala Harris to the Oval Office as the new Executive In Chief. Thank You and Good Night."

(Just in case there's a way to veto these Executive Orders, he should send guards to discreetly lock Congress at nighttime so they can't hold a vote just before he goes on TV.)

I think you'd see either some VERY quick backtracking by the entire SCOTUS, plus the GOP asking for an emergency meeting and a chance to make things right, or a short Civil War. Which is coming anyhow, by the looks of it, so might as well get it over with now.

He's near the end of his life, so why not perform this selfless act for the good of the nation?

Exactly. I can see the movie scene now:

"Your usefulness to me is now at an end... [maniacal Orange-man laughter]" :(
