Too late now, but if every US child had been required to visit a death camp and take a semester of WWII history (actual version, not some Texas-schoolbook division approved, neutered/revisionist one) maybe we wouldn't be here today.

a distant memory meaning idiots don't feel like they're a threat anymore

This is, in general, why I think current events are the way they are. Disease, Fascism, Populism, (lack of) separation of church/state, eroded Unions/labour rights, ... it only took a few generations living without the personal pain caused by allowing these things to exist, for certain nations and people to forget.

Can someone make a filter that auto-converts x.com links to xcancel.com? No need to give the fascist grand vizier extra clicks. (Scary map BTW - BC, AB, SK each split into north and south states?)

These look cool -- bookmarked!

Dunno about docker setup, but I mirror github repos I worry may disappear automatically using my self-hosted gogs instance. (Gitea/Forgejo likely also can do it). It's point-and-click, you just specify the github URL and check a box "this is a mirror".

Badge of honour, coming from these fascists.

As someone who grew up in Alberta, Hell No. As someone now residing in BC, HELL THE F*CK NO. So BC will be cut off from the rest of Canada?

The commenters on that blog are all wannabe-traitors, and should move south if they don't find their current conditions to their liking. Good riddance, try not to get shot down there while going bankrupt for a scratched knee at the hospital.

... but not rethinking it due to the insanely illegal and unethical crime against humanity that it is. OK.

So they'll just make their concentration camps reside within U.S. borders.

This ^^^ so much

Do not trust Russia, and do not trust the US under current administration, or while the GOP still exists. We in the rest of the world are ON OUR OWN and must band together against this push of fascism across the world. This is not a drill, this is not a joke. Fascism is again on the rise, as it was in the 1930s. We all know where that led, so don't let it do so again!

Ah! Thanks for the clarification. I should've done a side-search to check before posting.

Hmm, wikipedia says... "... Instead of generating food using the energy from sunlight, it is parasitic, and more specifically a mycoheterotroph" though.

Spinnaker's is a nice restaurant/pub in Vic. Courtenay/Comox area has lots of beautiful nature hikes, well honestly anywhere up &down the coast!

It is a plant, just of a sort that has turned to parasitism I suppose for its nutrients. I believe they are part of a larger family of plants named saprophytes.
