He was allegedly approached recently by the front office about incorporating more RPO into the offense to better suit Young’s play style and refused as it wasn’t his style. I kinda take this with a grain of salt because he hasn’t shied away from RPO’s before, particularly with the Wentz-Foles Eagles SB team, but assuming it was true, he wouldn’t be a good fit for Fields here as Fields obviously needs a coach that can adapt to his unique skillset. Conversely, he wasn’t a terrible quarterbacks/receivers coach and was an alright OC. In a diminished role, would he be worse as a qb coach than Getsy as an OC?
I was whelmed with him at ND, whelmed with him his first few years. He is that guy though. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with him this year. Heck, since his one handed catch in stride last year.

He’s having a good season all around as a blocker and consistent catcher, but he is only getting 40.2 yards per game. Stats are arbitrary but if he were getting 10-15 more per game I think the conversation absolutely could be had. As it stands, I’d say dependable but not a game changer like the real premier tight ends in the game that could be top 100. Top 150 is totally appropriate though.
