My understanding is that while they can make a new queen under the radar, hypothetically, the slightly different scent of her eggs/haploid larva is seen as a hostile invasion and it’s quickly dispatched by loyalists, which is why non-main-queen offspring rarely happens.
Something like because they are all essentially genetically identical, they all have the same pheromones, but the next generation won’t.
Those look neat, I didn’t know baby blue beetles existed! (I’m not super surprised by that since they also come in gold, and there are more beetle varieties than anything else, but still)

Do you have the ones where you are definitely an adult, your current self, and still getting shunted back to highschool? I’ve had those, try as you like to explain it nobody believes you..
I don’t have dreams of being a kid but I occasionally have one like that as adult me.. it’s kinda trippy.
My recurring stress dream is someone chasing me and it’s like I’m running into a gale force wind, try as hard as I might I can barely move. I’ll be tipped forward struggling to put force into my legs and just, no result. Each foot goes down right where I picked it up from, or maybe a few inches forward.
Then of course they catch me, and my ability to fight back is equally shit, like full force punch barely grazes them sort of stuff.
I’m fairly certain it’s all due to the lack of actual bodily response in my sleeping self, because I’m pretty aware of that sort of thing (I’ve used my pulse to determine lucid dreaming status for decades, as it doesn’t exist in dreams, and on the occasions I’ve tried to wake myself from them I can feel the sleep paralysis preventing willful movement)
What kind of beetles?
That assumes a level of competency I doubt musk is capable of.

Yep, all the (original) doors and hardware in my house have been painted over. So many layers of paint. Unfortunately they have also had stuff screwed in, nailed in, have been drilled through for various additional hardware, etc. so they can’t really be refinished to be restored..
I’m repainting them and changing the hardware out completely (it’s the old style inset locking mechanisms, so limited options), but that’s all I can do without replacing the doors themselves.
