Sellaista.

Yeah I understand that of course a random instance could just change the code so that nothing is deleted. However, what I meant is that in the documentation states that the instance can use this Tombstone instead of deleting and it seems like it is completely "fine" and within the rules to do so. I am referring to this:

... the server receiving the delete activity SHOULD remove its representation of the object with the same id, and MAY replace that representation with a Tombstone object.

From https://www.w3.org/TR/activitypub/#delete-activity-inbox

So they should do it but it is also OK to use this different thing. Or am I misunderstanding this comment and it means that instances need to delete the object, and after the fact it is allowed for instances to furthermore make this Tombstone to somehow track that yes there was a deleted object here?

I'm sure they're already here. Lurking in the shadows. Polishing their projectiles. Waiting.

Hey, you wanna give more context to point 3? I only found comments regarding that delete will spread but the servers can (though should not I guess) just replace the deleted object with a "Tombstone" object and thus not really delete.

Lmao right? Everyone gets the voting slip but nobody if forcing you to vote. If you don't then the people who do decide what happens.

This is an annoying event that happened. I don't like that the copyright works in this way but fuck man, IA had to know that what they were doing was not even remotely in the grey area. It was a dumb move from them.

Hmm sellaista. Noh parempi tämä kun että ei mitään.

Absolutely nothing. I probably should though. Or at least something to find some new interesting books.

Finished up To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini last week. Was a great read, a loooong book though. Just noticed that there is a prequel to the book so perhaps I will read that at some point, though it was not available at my library (at least as e-book).

Currently got nothing to read. And actually due to me being here instead of reddit I am cutting down on internet-time anyway so it would be a good time to start a new book. I have some ideas like Neuromancer, Slaughterhouse five, Project Hail Mary, The Forever War and Arrival but perhaps I'll find something completely different. I also read the Elder Race by Tchaikovsky a few months back and it was great, perhaps I'll read another one of their books next.
