The ridiculous length of most of these bills now is a major part of the problem. They are usually written on K St by lobbying firms and think tanks, then handed to favorable Congress critters to be introduced.

None of them are from DC. They are ALL from other parts of the country. They get ALL of their support from other parts of the country. You just want to wipe out a disenfranchised, majority black city that you know nothing about, because the rest of the country sends people there that you don't like.
Why? DC is solid blue and doesn't even have any political power. DC doesn't have voting representation in Congress or even full home rule. The politicians in power are sent there from the rest of the country.
I definitely get that. I used to fear age more than I do now. Now, I don't really care anymore. Aging just means I am closer to finally being able to sleep for good. Besides, it's not like I am going to reach 90 or anything like that; I just have to hold on till my parents pass and then I can follow them without guilt.
