He’s not nearly as funny as he was in his prime in the 90s. Lots of them later are just plain not funny although cult followers will play word-twister all day in order to justify it.

No, some people say make decision, and some people make a typo, or just plain don’t have a decent rudimentary vocabulary.

Sounds good, Chief. Adios.

I did, but you refused to provide the info. What are you smoking that makes you not think straight? I ask, you refuse, then you say I didn't want to know. Thats some contortionist logic right there.

Yeah that’s what I thought. Lol.

[–] AndrewZabar@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago (6 children)

Could you cite some sources for this please? Seriously.

Well if you call putting it into the constitution “settling” for neutrality, then so be it, have whatever terminology you want. They didn’t want a theocracy, but the fundies of today would like nothing more than that.

[–] AndrewZabar@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

The point is that they put the separation of church and state right into the constitution in the first amendment. The fact that they codified it as such, established that it was a primary principle they wanted for the nation’s foundational philosophy.

They were not even the same religions as one-another, so that makes no sense. Also, there’s no basis for that idea.

[–] AndrewZabar@lemmy.world 0 points 3 days ago (14 children)

But they left Europe in part to get away from church government. First amendment and all that. Most of them were religious but they wanted it out of government.

I don't think I'd even remembered that one. I read most of his earliest books but for some reason I didn't remember that one. Yeah that one is swing and a miss. Weird.

In keeping with Dan’s pattern from the beginning of subverting anticipations - as in, Brita and Jeff kissing for his assignment, Jeff and Annie kissing for the debate - I think it would be perfect for the movie to establish Jeff and Annie are already married. Maybe they started dating a few years after the finalé.

What do y'all think?

She’s already wrapped S2 of Ted, and clearly she likes working with Seth, so since Lysella stayed on board in the end, wouldn’t it be awesome if she became a recurring character or even a cast member?

Hi all,

I have a Moto G Stylus 5G. I acquired it as part of a Lot. Since it's in great condition I decided to make use of it. One of the first things it did was upgrade from Android 13 to 14. Well, some of my essential apps can't run on 14 so how can I undo the upgrade? I just want to roll back to 13, or alternatively, install the stock 13 via recovery etc.

This would really be of immense use to me. Thanks.

I have an A7 Lite and I’m just getting sick of the lag and sluggishness. I had done a lot of research prior to buying it, and was led to believe it could be optimized enough to run really nicely.

Well it turns out that any rare successful ROM replacement procedures are long gone with no live file links and not a single coherent procedure instruction. So despite it being theoretically doable, there isn’t a solid document with accompanying files available. I have spent many months looking for something that isn't obsolete, incomplete or missing accompanying files.

So… what I need is something around that size +/- a little. So like 8"-11" range. I want a long lasting battery and a decent enough CPU, RAM, GPU arrangement to handle most basic tasks such as videos, photoshop and the occasional game - without any stuttering or hanging due to latency.

Ideally, I’d really like to be able to do a custom ROM if I should so desire. This isn’t urgent but in my experience with a dozen different test cases, a slimmer ROM make a crazy improvement in performance (seriously, it's astonishing how much faster most devices perform with a slimmed ROM) . However, given I’d likely wind up going with a Samsung I’d want the S-Pen to work nicely. I really don’t like how bloated One-UI is, but it would seem I’d be stuck with it unless there are ROMs that integrate their S-Pen utilities. I actually quite like them.

So good performance but don’t need the best or even close to the best. Just not the bargain basement slug that is the Mediatek inside the A7 Lite. It’s honestly shameful.

Oh and just in case they’ve started to fuck around with this, I need a microSD slot.

Sorry for being so verbose but I wanted to be as clear about what I wanna avoid as what I am looking for.

Edit: some grammar and clarifications.

There are some builds here or there posted on XDA, but they all have dead links. I’m still looking around to see if the files can be found on any live hosts, but if anyone has the files to custom ROM any of these… they’re decent hardware and shouldn’t have to be tossed in the ground just because the manufacturers are too greedy to give new Android versions for them.

The D415 is already rooted; none of the others have had any mods done yet. I’m hoping to find potentially a decent build of maybe CyanogenMod, Lineage, Havoc, Pixel, or any of the other quality builds.

I already ran the Droid bootloader code check and Motorola’s site says this one is not eligible to be unlocked. Must have been the typical control-freak contract that Verizon usually does. I guess at that time they wanted to nickel and dime every bit they could with this model. Quite a few Verizon phones were able to be unlocked, though, so with that unit there still could be a possibility. I’m not expecting so, though.

I'm working with limited battery duration but Launchy would be immensely useful for my home screens. I don't want to use it, though, if it is heavy on the battery.

I want to scan specified range. I don't want something that just scans the default network. I'm trying to scan a subnet on a VPN I'm connected to. Would love something like Angry Scanner.

Hey all, Is it particularly unhealthy to snack on powdered drink mix? The kind that’s just garbage chemicals and artificial flavors. I drink TONS of water every day because I take a lot of medication so I have always drank a lot of water. I pee like 10x a day and it’s very clear so I know I’m getting plenty. That being divulged, we have this powdered drink mix and I like touching the pouch opening to my tongue and sucking on the powder a little bit at a time. It’s tasty and no calories to speak of. I know it’s junk but it keeps me from snacking on junk food. I just wonder if it’s particularly unhealthy to do.

The ones on XDA have dead links or have no workable instructions. Anyone have a complete repository with proper insructions? My T220 was very affordable but honestly, it's brutally slow. OneUI is too heavy for these resources. I don't want Lineage, since it does not allow moving apps to SD.

A solid generic Android with Root would be just ((((chef's kiss)))).

The device already has Developer options set to allow OEM unlocking and I have adb etc. on PC.

I hope someone has something good for me. Thanks.

Adding fonts to an OS is ancient, so it is baffling to me to have such trouble finding any resources on how to add my fonts to Android. How many fundamentals do they have to turn decades backward?

Hi all,

So, what I need is a utility that will allow me to select any of my installed apps, and it will parse all installed icon packs and display all icons it finds for said app, and display them labeled with their respective pack names.

Hey all, I have been trying to revitalize a Galaxy S5. I installed Lineage 17 and while the performance is AMAZING and I mean that seriously, I can't figure out how to root. I got Magisk, but it's asking me to patch a file. I don't know what now. Prior to Lineage, I rooted the stock android with a rooting tool that was extremely quick and easy. Just sent a file in Odin while in download mode and it did the rest. But I'm fairly sure that same utility can't be used on Lineage as it's a whole new system.

What I would like is either help doing this, or if anyone knows a better rom to use that comes with root ability - and also the ability to move apps to the SD. For some reason, Lineage won't do this adequately, and stock android has no problem with it whatsoever. That's a step down in my opinion just because of dev's personal philosophy but whatever.

Anyway. Thanks if anyone can help.
