just gonna to say this, you spent nearly 2 decades without speaking. best case scenerio you ask her if she ever felt that way about you, and shes says yes. then move forward form there. worst case she says no, and then you, as an adult, respect that, and move forward as the adults you both are now. or she totally ghosts you and you move on and dont speak for several more decades. either way youll survive.

however, it doesnt have to be all or nothing. if shes as cool as you say she is, she'll understand. its kind of difficult for two people of the opposite gender to be such good friends and then not question a mutual attraction from time to time. just be casual about it, dont force her into a corner or anything. if she doesnt see you that way, then just be a good friend. thats all you need to be. a romantic relationship is just friendship with sex and attraction, so you can still be friends without that. life isnt a movie. shes a grown ass woman, she'll understand.

just ask, or live not knowing and suffer for it. but dont be weird about it, be casual. be cool about it, ya know?

dont get me wrong, i support renewables. and canadas place as a potential leader in green energy. However your statement that climate change is "(fake)" threw me for a loop.

it reads like a sarcastic statement, or something that was humorously misinformed on purpose, as a joke or something. im a bit on the spectrum, so sarcasm is hard to detect for me, from time to time.

if its what you choose to believe, then i dont think throwing data your way would dissuade you from thinking otherwise, at this point. it really doesnt matter either way. having you think one way or another changes nothing when it comes to climate collapse. the data suggests that its far too late to make a difference as far as stopping or reversing it, and all we can do now is focus on adaptation.

im not sure if you are younger, or older. but based on general ages on this app, i can assume you are young enough to witness it for yourself in time, no matter where you live.

keep up the renewables grind though, thats something i can respect.

you are 100% correct, however, the longer im here, the more tech literate i become, the easier it becomes for me to explain it to others, and thus, the fediverse grows. word of mouth to those willing to take the plunge.

you cant force people to learn something, but being able to sell it convincingly helps, especially if you know what you are talking about, and arent abbrasive or judgemental.

linux community / privacy communities rock here.

also general conversation feels more honest and constructive. instead of the whole "WeLl AcTuAlLy!" type of shit you get on reddit. it happens, but nowhere nearly as much.

also, way less censorship. comparing feeds from lemmy to reddit, is like apples to oranges.

this feels like a much more human space to me.

just a reminder that the recent manhattan shooting was not about a disgruntled former football player with brain damage attempting to shoot an NFL headquarters, he was assassinating the CEO of blackstone ("former" black rock subsidy, that is part of the reason the rental crisis is what it is) and the media is actively covering it up so people dont rally around him like LUIGI MANGIONE.

nobody drives across the country only to get off on the "wrong floor" from their target, and shoot a random CEO and then kill themselves.

its all bullshit.

just figured id post that here, cause you know, new york.

they are just going to give more resources to israel to continue the genocide and write it off as food aid for gazans.

saved you the bullshit.

Bill C2 removes canadians constitutional rights to privacy by giving police and the government access to our data and mail without warrant and also gives the US access to that same data. which will be shared with private entities like palantir, a company actively working towards dark enlightenment.

on that bill alone i have lost any faith i had that carney cared about our well being. the cuts hes planning to make will effect our already struggling and overcut healthcare system, and many other social programs. in increasing amounts, annually over the next three years.

hes a repackaged conservative whos attempting to open us up to privatisation. feeding tax dollars into "nation building projects" essentially paying for corporate projects on our dime. especially in the energy sector, and oil. for someone who is supposed to be climate concious, this is another nail in the coffin of climate change.

the US and oligarchs the world over are cheering for this while most people are still blindly believing hes our "answer" to trump.

hes the richest PM we have ever had, a banker, and also still has the ability to manipulate markets for the benefit of his "blind trust" which also has american holdings.

he says a lot without answering questions fully, using corpo speak, he just throws out terms that sound nice to placate his worried supporters before they get buyers remorse. and then shuts down reporters who ask him hard questions, from either side of the political spectrum.

he lied about no longer supporting israel, and is still sending them weapons, ammunition, and parts for F35 jets after saying we would no longer being doing that. and so is complicit in genocide.

hes full of shit, and we fell for it out of fear of trump.

and the media and people just loooooove this guy, by design, and refuse to look into the long stretching implications of his policies because "at least hes not PP!". hes shifted the overton window further to the right with virtually nobody noticing. and destroyed the federal NDP in the process. the left is dying in canada, and they dont even realize it.

we are being fattened up for a corporate takeover and economic annexation. as well as drifting further into a surveillance state. our rights and social programs slowly being stripped away with a smile and promise for a better future

hes not our friend, hes a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Write your MP ASAP. This bill is unacceptable, unconstitutional, and unCanadian.
