This is him not knowing what friends are like. A person being nice to you because of they don't they could lose their livelihood is not your friend.
A friend likes you for the person you are, and Musk is such an insufferable prick that he keeps pushing those away. Even the guys he tries to impress nowadays won't stick with him but think his money is handy. He's basically a cash cow getting milked and thinks that's friendship.

There's people that openly supported Trump that were deported, or had their significant others deported. They only care about skin color and politics and if innocent people get mistreated as collateral, they don't really care.
