Before too many people come in saying she needs a longer sentence just a quick reminder; The singular only reason she is serving time at all is because she stole money from other rich assholes. Had she just scammed the poor rubes likes us here as the top class is supposed to do she would probably still be on several boards and gotten press coverage as the "inspirational power woman who bounced back".

I have used Affinity for about 5 minutes. Not because it's bad, but because I'm not a designer and I'd first need to watch ten hours of YouTube before I can make a decent template for whatever. And no time for that yet
But I did buy the full suite, just because (1) everything I would ever make with it is my own property. (2) I own the software, not rent it and (3) fuck Adobe it can die in a ditch. I'll pay a 100 euros to your competition just because they are not you.
as others said the concept of email is already pretty good. But if you're worried about your data, simplest solution is to stop relying on free email services where you are the product (like google) and start paying for services whose business model is privacy (like proton).
As an addendum, what about the popular tools we use in our daily lives? The calendar, note tools, etc all are products of companies driven to maximize profits.
proton offers email, vpn, password manager, file storage, and calendar.
other companies also offer parts of that if you dont want to rely on the same company for all of it.
obsidian offers local, secure, and encrypted sync notekeeping.
For everything you mention there is a company who offers it, and who's business model is providing a good and secure service for a fee, and not "free"(paid by your ad profile).

I get that. I'm all for viewing then with suspicion. Rightly and justifiably so. I don't have Facebook or Instagram except for contained osint work. I value privacy and understand it's importance.
But I'm personally not in favour of wildly quarantining every instance that doesn't fully block them before I have had more time to understand the risks and options here. And I think a lot of people here don't do. Not really. In that regard its just classic social media with people stoking each others fears and feasting on it.
And I guess a lot of people are here, fresh from reddits corporate ego trip only to immediately feel the worry of their next digital home inevitably meeting the same fate. I think that fresh trauma is directing a lot of the current discourse here. And I think it would be wise to revisit the subject again when we've settled and understand our new surroundings more.
tl;dr: don't trust facebook, but also don't burn half the street down because they bought a mansion down the lane.
Im not going to deny the threat of Extend/Embrace/Extinguish, but everyone defederating now, and threatening to defederate all other instances that dont do so as well, comes across as an incredible hasty and mostly an emotionally driven decision.
Im very much tried to wait with picking the game up again until the expansion drops in september, but all the news snippets for it got me so excited again that I started it up again already, just trying out the character editor tweeking and finetuning my new V for a fresh 2.0 play in september.
I got the game last year september. I looked forward to it before it released, but decided to hold off on buying since my PC at the time wouldnt suffice. With all the bugs and the release troubles that seemed to turn out right.
When I started playing in september on PS5, I was sold. almost immediately. I normally aint fond of 1st person games. But for CP2077 it works. Real quickly, you really start to feel as V. Youre there, in Night City, living it. Story is cool, side-quests are great and sometimes haunting. Combat has a lot of approaches and variety. The city and narrative are deeply depressing, but in a good way. Because it makes the characters shine. Let yourself be immersed, and this game will get stuck on your soul.
AskWomen felt to me like the kind of place where the mods always set out with clear and understandable intentions, but where the end results became less than the sum of its parts. They wanted to create a safe space and they had all the rights and arguments to do so. And they succeeded. And it became so safe that its practically living as a bubble-boy now.
I am absolutely looking forward to both.
