If democrats were at all capable of competent resistance d the minute republicans said they weren't going to approve a justice in an election year Obama should have said "congress is refusing to do their job to approve a nominee in an attempt to co trol the other two branches so I nominate whoever the fuck u want, what are they going to do about it"

Unfortunately the dems assumed theybwere going to keep the executive branch forever so instead they did nothing and then immediatly rolled over and showed their belly as soon as republicans were in control.

Also wanna take this opportunity to re-emphasive the reason they originally took co trol was because after refusing to step down for years RBG died because she had to officiate a wedding ignoring covid protocols in the middle of a nationwide spike AFTER she had been diagnosed with cancer.

I'd be a lot more sympathetic to the whole "vote for dems because the Supreme court" if they hadn't spent the last decade proving not only will they not fight to get any justices on the court they also won't do anything to oppose a republican nomination.

Republicans will never let a Democrat nominate a justice again.

New York dems really might be the worst in the country.

In large parts of the state everybofy just votes for dems so everybody just runs as a Democrat even if they're a boilerplate republican.

Not that weed legalisation is that important of an issue but new york "legalizing" recreational pot and now 4 full years later there still aren't any stores that can legally sell it practically anywhere outside a major city is a perfect metaphor.
