but wouldn't "the sum of all the little bits of x" just be... x? Like what the fuck Calculus?! Speak plainly.
Neofetch reloaded. followed by neofetch revolutions.
As someone with a BA in Archaeology, the idea that the Romans didn't understand the concept of knitting, is the dumbest thing I'll read today.
FFS, they weren't cave men...
Cuneiform was a syllabic language. It had words and structure. It wasn't just "impressions of ideas" like pictographs. (Source: Near Eastern Archaeology was quite literally my university major)
So in no way am I referring only to "alphabetic" languages as you seem to imply. And Cuneiform is included in what I was talking about...language. Whether that's writing the epic of Gilgamesh or giving someone the worlds first bad yelp review.
Saying words didn't exist until indo-european alphabets emerged is frankly ridiculous.
Devils advocate, but I feel like we threads was brigaded in advance before actually doing anything shitty.
Yes they're a terrible company, and yes, it's a 99.9% certainty that federation with threads will cause an issue. However...
If we are trying to encourage companies in general to use more FOSS and change to FOSS, then we shouldn't be preemptively punishing them before they even join.
Its going to turn companies off moving to FOSS and frankly it comes across as kind of dickish.
I gave up on swipe typing and installed a simple, basic, Open Source keyboard. I loved swipe, but got fed up with dealing with the aggravation.
Any touch keyboard can screw up, of course. But going back to tapping has reduced the errors a hundred fold. With the added bonus of extra privacy.
Do they? Or are they funny TO YOU because you were part of that original audience?
If you put a kid in front of a 30 year old episode are THEY going to think its funny?
Comedy has changed in 31 years. So has humour in general, and so has writing.
The Simpsons is never going to be the same as it was over the seasons because that's not how culture works. Meanwhile, the reviews are mostly coming from long time viewers who lament that it's not like it "used to be".
Shows change. Get over it.
Closest thing we'll ever get to Firefly: The Game.
Enjoyed the atmosphere, the dialogue, the music and the feel of the weapons when they are being fired.
Loved Ellie and Parvati as companions. Parvati's story is so goddamned sweet and is the emotional heart of the game in my opinion.
Ellie is a redhead, so she's automatically awesome.
I liked the kid, bit don't remember his name. Kind of generic and forgettable.
Nyoka has great dialogue during fight scenes, but again, kind of forgettable and her side quest was boring. But the voice actor did a great job with her.
The priest is a twat and I've literally never picked him up again on any new play through.
In conclusion, hella' fun, but not open enough for more than two or three playthroughs. Once you've explored all the options, there's not much to do anymore.
If I remember correctly, the Kingdom of Aksum (based out of Ethiopia and Eritrea) was the third largest empire in the world, and on par with Rome and Carthage in terms of advancement.
When they collapsed, they vanished, unlike the Roman empire, which culturally just kind of splintered off into the holy Roman empire, the franks, etc...
I often wonder what Africa would look like if something like the HRE replaced the aksumite empire.
I've been rolling OG KSP for years. Never felt like there was going to be enough in KSP2 to make it a necessary upgrade for me. Modded KSP1 is functionally the same thing with maybe a few exceptions. I've never played a more mod-friendly game (except perhaps Fallout4)
